This is a golden age of children's literature. There are books being published today that will shape the minds of generations; life-changing books whose readers will change the world. There really is a book for EVERYONE now - if we can just help every reader find those books!

'Rocking Reindeer' is still one of my most popular Christmas project ideas . . . one paper plate, no leftovers, no waste. 👍 *sound up, the music is even in time. 😆 https://t.co/28aN3vNG4O

Each week, our Year 5/6 Reading Buddies go and read empathy-rich picturebooks and talk about empathy with pupils in EYFS and KS1. Between them, they've created a bank of 20 questions to use as a starting point. Please feel free to download from my Padlet. https://t.co/JBuWKFD2sh

Honestly @PieCorbett’s talk for writing, mixed with #colourfulsemantics is saving my class in terms of writing. You CANNOT write a sentence until you’ve heard it in your head. You need to compose it. We all do it, every day. Children need to be taught it. #oracymatters

No. 16 in my #FavePicturebooks25: “Astro” by #ManuelMarsol. A surreal space tale of friendship, loss, and wonder—psychedelic art meets cosmic questions. Achingly beautiful and deeply human. A true wonder that remains long after you close the book #PicturebookPage

I love Wodehouse, Jerome K Jerome, Richmal Crompton, Sue Townsend but the line that makes me laugh loudest is in the prologue to BunnyVMonkey by @jamiesmart It's when Pig says "I put a HaT on him."

#BookIllustrationOfTheDay is BACK! This is from Moominland Midwinter (1957) by Tove Jansson, a colour plate from a 1961 Italian edition. Masterly shadows, startled eyes and nervous body language capture the haunting spirit of this much loved book.
