“…and so the end is near and we face the final curtain” Just diving into the final Podkin from #KieranLarwood. It’s been a wonderful series, I took it to read in the playground at lunchtime and and at least 20 kids were desperate to read it next. Fantastic stuff!

Well done Ofsted for that utter pigs-ear of a new framework. The Big Listen was obviously a Big Ignore. It takes some doing to take something bad and make it worse.

Love #EmilyGravett, she is one of my must get picturebook makers. “Bear’s Nap” is a joyously funny book about a bear preparing for hibernation. It’s a fab interactive read-a-loud full of playful humour. The art is a characterful and charming . Lovely. #PicturebookPage

A proper version for older primary. “Hansel and Gretel” by @StephenKing using illustrations made by #MauriceSendak for an opera in 1997, carried the right sense of darkness and threat. A dark tale wonderfully told in luscious edition. Fab stuff! #PicturebookPage

https://t.co/I1WH7VkCin Tom Bennett says strict rules ‘dovetail perfectly’ with inclusion. Tell that to the SEND kids disproportionately excluded under these regimes. Orderly ≠ inclusive

The DfE attendance and behaviour ambassador defends his record and tells Tes why he wants to check on teacher-training providers

“The Invisible Parade” by #LeighBardugo and @JohnPicacio is an extraordinary story about coming to terms with grief. Set on Día de los Muertos, it tells a story of realising the dead are always with us . Poignant and funny with astounding visuals. Amazing. #PicturebookPage Y5/6

Loved the final Crook Haven boook by @Joelarcanjo “The Thieves Revenge” is a celebratory end to a wonderful series. Whilst the the perils are the greatest they’ve been, it revels in its found family and how that allows of the crew to be better. Great series/ Great ending

Beautiful Bucolic English end of Summer day. Had vibes of the Detectorists never ending summer. Very fascinated by trees today

Diving into the final part of #KiranMillwoodHargreaves utterly brilliant Geomancer series. Can’t wait to see how Ysolda and and Eira face up to Seren the Wolf Queen. If you haven’t come across this series totally recommend hunting them down. @HachetteKids

My nostalgia continues…Coke in a glass bottle, reminds of Sunday Evenings, sat in the car or in the pub garden with my sister, bottle of Coke, or Tizer or Vimto and a packet of crisps while parents had a drink in the pub! Nothing tastes like coke out of a glass bottle.

Not lived here for 35 years, but am struck by how much of my family history is tied to this place and specifically this church. Christenings, marriages, funerals my whole family history is here and in this graveyard. #Worcestershire

“No more chairs,” by #DanGill and #SusanGal On the first day of school, Mr. Gill’s students ask about the empty chair. He shares a childhood memory, when his friend Archie was told there were “no more chairs” at a party. A book about standing up when it counts.#PicturebookPage

Today will mostly be spent listening to these crackers by @mrjimBob. Tunes, delicious wordplay, melancholy and a little bit anger. Awesome! Not since the heady 90’s has somebody released two albums on the same day. #ProbablyBritainsMostUnderratedSongwriter
