Thank you @tompalmerauthor @CarolinaRabei @ScholasticUKTch for a fantastic session this morning. We learned a lot and all thoroughly enjoyed drawing Judy! We hope you like them. #WarDog

Reading Floodland by Marcus Sedgwick with my Y5/6 class is always an absolute pleasure. Not a single word is wasted! Six lines in and we're already straight into the action. Such a talented writer and such a sad loss.

We're always trying to run education on the cheap and it's absolutely draining. Decisions are made for budgetary reasons rather than educational reasons. No society has ever got worse by investing too much in its children and schools.
The government believes schools can find savings through adjusting the make-up of leadership teams and deployment of support staff, as it prepares to leave them to foot the bill for future teacher pay rises... https://t.co/enRJkKgcmm

The @EmpathyLabUK conference on Thu 27th Nov is going to be superb. The more we learn about the links between reading and empathy, the more we can nurture it. Fantastic speakers, including @MichaelRosenYes, @TeresaCremin and @a_reflective. More info here: https://t.co/RThyth5bXt

I love a children's author who knows their Greek mythology and @AnneliseGray clearly does. The Odyssey of Phoebe Quilliam is a fantastic adventure story, full of action and drama, but with plenty of quieter and more reflective moments too. It's a great read for Year 5/6.

Global liquidity is shifting again. AI is pulling capital into new corners of the world. And policy credibility is making a comeback in emerging markets. Here’s what the @StoneX_Official Strategy team has been seeing from São Paulo to Buenos Aires to New York.

Loved this book and delighted to see it's been shortlisted for the 2025 East Anglian Book Awards. Well deserved, @jimcockinauthor.
Ghost Tide by @jimcockinauthor is a superbly atmospheric and creepy ghost story set on the Suffolk coast. The tension builds relentlessly throughout the book. Perfect for the Year 6 bookshelf. Highly recommended for fans of Aveline Jones and similar. @EyeAndLightning

This is really sad news. Knights Of are exactly the kind of publisher that the children's book world needs. https://t.co/9ADEHRY5yj

What would the Jack Reacher books look like if they were set in the UK? Arrive in Milton Keynes via bus after a three hour delay on the M1, take on a group of angry locals outside a nearby Greggs and single-handedly uncover a vast conspiracy involving parking tickets. What else?

Have spent the day reading some of the books shortlisted for the @EmpathyLabUK Read for Empathy collection. It always inspires me. So many wonderful things can happen in a classroom when you use the right story or poem.
