Took me forever but after great struggle I have fixed the crashing shark AI. Game now runs with 0 errors. A big sigh of relief now that I can get back to making the game.
Anyway this is doing numbers for some reason. 👋 I apologize for making y'all think I was gauging her black belt combat effectiveness against grizzly bears.

Don't go to discord to tell other indies you are better than them because you have higher unit activations. That's pretty unprofessional. Congrats, though, I guess.

If it's any consolation I enjoyed your rendition of Wade before he was amalgamated into a robot with laser eyes. I like to think this rough start was what made you give maximum effort during your 2nd chance at Deadpool. Cuz you nailed it.
Indiedev day 5! Not the best of days. Gamepad works for all the UI now, but it's not removing the materials when clicked. Small progress is still progress.

Indiedev day 43! We have 9 layers!!! Procedural array set up, a little denser probably than what it should be but looking good! We'll do some red grass for this zone I think. Might also be a good zone to add a little marine snow to? 🤔

Indiedev day 91! Fiddled with weather settings some more and discovered fog intensity. All I'm missing now is a Far Harbor town where villagers make pacts with the one below. Maybe some VA going "gurglemurgleblargle." But that's for another day.
Reached a stage in development where both the kiddos are asking to play the game. Recently they discovered the 40 sharks swimming around the island.

Indiedev day 4! Back to crafting. Had some delays since I forgot my naming conventions and couldn't find stuff. A little rusty. 🙃 But gamepad now works with -some- of the crafting menu.

recovery efforts failed for the majority of stuff that was lost, so I spent all day yesterday starting over. That kind of sucks but I can try to do it better as I go.

Hi I'm an indie dev making a mermaid fashion looter rpg. Think if Abzu, Subnautica, and Aquaman were thrown into a blender. We've worked hard for a few years, made huge strides over 93 days this year alone, and have so much more to share when we're ready.
Felt cute. Added a few caustic lights underwater to look at and expanded my little reef a little. Most of the corals came from the marketplace and look great.
But I'm quite fond of the tall plants and the spiky flower the artist made for me. Got a whole custom coral pack made.
As for how it looks when swimming around, I'd say pretty dang good. 8.6 x 8.6 might be a decent size to stay at. Sprinkle in some islands and figure out how long it takes to swim across that. 😭

I swear if I ever ship my own game with a physical release there’s gonna be something in that friggin box.
This makes me so sad… character profiles, hints, credits, maps. A poster!?! Jesus put something in for us to get excited about :(
Indie dev is hard as hell. It takes forever. There's backtracking. Iteration. Failure. But I tell you what this community is awesome, and I'm proud of what we've managed to do so far.
And we ain't even done yet.
Bonus round 3. How much progress did I plan to make today? Crushing it.
Starting a quest now spawns the location marker. That didn't take long.

Indiedev day 106! My first vfx. Obviously not the nice sparks. Attempted to make a parry window vfx, which you can see slowly start to appear. Making the texture in krita wasn't too bad, the material in Unreal was also easy. But goodness the particle settings. 🤪
Indiedev day 59! The npc's can now assign the quests. Distance based visibility on question mark. That part all works great. What I didn't expect was for the entire HUD to hide. 🤪other than that bug and controller support

This is amazing. I know a bunch of so called texans are booing you, god forbid you help anybody anymore, but thanks for coming down here and being an example of what our leaders should have been doing since the first day this started. Y'know instead of running away.
Abilities prototyping for the mage is done. LB and RB now have their own spells to draw from that I can easily(lol?) make unique per character. Will work on the ones for the rogue and warrior this weekend to scratch them off the list.

I actually liked that show. Enough so that I stopped working on my indie game long enough to binge watch it. I expect season 2 would be even better.
Bonus round. Went back to add resources to the bathypelagic layer and found some bugs that prevented being able to gather resources. So that's fixed now. Maybe.
Someone said this wasn't looking good and I had to rewatch it to see if we're watching the same video and now you all have to see it again too!
