I've seen some US labs do this and given this Twitter conversation, I guess it is not a bad idea at all! So now, anyone in India who does scientific illustrations such as the one shown in the quoted tweet below? @polybiotique, any leads? Would be nice to have a list somewhere..

@GunnarBlohm Here's a nice example of a figure that I commissioned @mulesome to make to illustrate vagus nerve stimulation. I can't fathom how long something like this would have taken me, and I'm certain that my version would not have been as clear as this.

The older I get, the more I realize that working out rewires your brain. It is pro agency. It creates evidence that you have the power to take an action and achieve a desired outcome. That has ripple effects. When you believe that, the entire world opens up to you.

A model for the rest of us to follow. It's time we stopped losing out on opportunities to go share our science with the international community due to visa issues. Let's bring some major cogsci/neuro conferences to Asia!

Bringing international conferences to the global south empowers many more. Thanks to all who made @Behaviour2025 possible. Fantastic talks, meeting old friends, interacting with so many students and meeting @toshitaka_szk in India was the highlight for me. #Behaviour #NextIsWhat

Can anyone ever fix research fund disbursal? Can researchers expect funds/fellowship on time? While some may be impacted only slightly, there are many who simply have to wait and can't do anything. #Research Many project people lose jobs.

A friend of mine in the private sector once remarked how freely scientists share ideas. Not always, but compared to the private sector there's much more sharing of early thoughts. That's because you can't DO science without bouncing ideas off others.

Have you located the selfie booth of the #behaviour2025 conference yet? It's near the registration desk at level 2. People at the venue can visit to click interesting photos! We appreciate Shramana Kar of IISER Kol for designing this beautiful logo, highlighting local art!

PSA: you don't need IF or keto or xyz to lose fat; you just need a calorie deficit. Design it in a way that works for you. I get hungry at night, so I have more of my calories towards the end of the day, but it is pretty spread out across the day. 111 Kg to 76 Kg and counting.

The concept of impact factor has greatly misled students. IFs are subject specific and comparing two journals based on IFs is just like comparing apples with oranges. For example, the reputation of @BiochemistryACS is better than some high impact Catalysis and Material journals.

The most effective networking strategy I’ve found has nothing to do with conferences, cocktail hours, cold emails, or any of the common ideas you hear. 1) Do interesting things. 2) Share them publicly. Like-minded people will come to you.

I think the problems with Indian cities are more mundane: solid waste management, water supply and quality, air pollution, declining public spaces, low-quality public transportation and the builder-politician nexus spring to mind. None of these are AI solvable.

How Amit Shah is going to use this bill: - CBI/ED/IT raids on opposition CMs - Book them under PMLA like acts - Send them to the jail - Don't let them get a Bail for 30 days - CM suspended automatically - Topple their govt in the meantime Mark my post. This will happen.

With government and universities creating an enabling environment, sustained increases in research funding are essential to maintain momentum. India spends 0.67% of GDP on R&D vs. 2.5% in China & 3.5% in the US. To become a global innovation leader, 🇮🇳 must raise this to ~2%.
