In a conference, 6 plenary talks were given by 6 directors. None of them finished on time, some exceeded by 20 mins. Most of them left after their talks & were shielded by organizers at lunch. It was poor young researchers who were asked to wrap quickly to enjoy lunch🤣.

Good academic record is just a qualifying criterion in higher education; it’s the quality and quantity of publications that often determine selection. Bt unfortunately, students think otherwise. Plz take your Ph.D projects as seriously as u did in your UG/PG course.

We often complain-we r not getting this and that. I remember there was a time when state governments had no money to pay salaries to their employees on time. And our parents were still happy and thankful to God that they, at least, had jobs.

While surviving as a tution teacher, I met a lady in 2008, who suggested me to do research. It ws her belief in me, I risked & did a PhD.She cheered for me on CSIR fellowship, my PDF. Despite family challenges of 9yrs, she chose me partner. All I m, I owe her! .Happy b'day Isha.

I don't put my ego, and I don't feel ashamed of reaching out to a good Professor for a postdoc position for my PhD students, even before they ask for recommendations. It may feel unconventional to many people, bt yes, the Professors appreciate it!!.

I didn't want to tell this before the last date of ANRF-ARG. but there is a secret in this call. This time, there is a restriction on your PI and Co-PI; you can be a PI and Co-PI in just one project each. So, if u r planning a multiple collaboration, think twice. .

While writing NPDF proposal, mind few points.• It's competitive, don't take proposal for granted. •Why will agency fund u?.• Align with host expertise.• What r deliverables?.•Don't generalize objectives, be specific.•Align with hot area e.g., sustainability, environment. .
