Belonging is a BIG DEAL in school. It can supercharge behaviour and learning... or it can lead to depression and shorter lifespans 🤯 Let's unpack why: ↓

“We have lost perspective,” Zoe Daniel says, denouncing the hate speech pervading the Voice. And she’s right. Even a quick glance at the CPAC event, at Michaelia Cash's tirade at the No launch, relays fearmongering & division. It's pure, petty politics for the LNP #QandA #auspol

You *can* finish each class as strongly as you started it. Try optimistic closures, which allow students to connect, reflect, and look forward as you wrap for the day. 💫

Classroom teaching is one of the hardest tasks ever devised (waaay harder than brain surgery). Yet many people think it's easy. This is the 'paradox of teacher expertise'. ↓

🧵 T&L principles are commonplace but often miss the conceptual framework required to ensure it is not a matter of pedagogy before subject. Whilst simpler to convey to teachers as an agreed lesson to lesson format, they can sometimes lead to huge distortions..

This black X logo is so unappealing. When I click on it I feel like I’ll be entering some right wing app for Republican men, some weird s@x club, or a vague financial ponzi start-up. It does not feel like an inviting community app. Nice work Elon.

So, that's what I tell my students every semester about the university's namesake. In my opinion (clearly not my employer's), we should not have an institution (or street, or anything) named after this man.
