Two track PBs at the age of 54 this week taking on the youngsters. 1500m and 3000m. Yesterdays 3000m bittersweet as came from a long way down last 2 laps to nearly threaten a medal in the LAAAs. Happy but not satisfied, but grateful to compete @CambuslangH @Tartanshorts @yhrfpod

The look of a man dropped from his group after less than 3k and not quite able to catch it up again after a few solo ks. Scottish 10k champs, 4th M50, from 32s off the medals at 2k to go to 5s at the end. Effort? 100% there. Legs? Posted missing. Grateful to still race.

An unexpected return to the @scotathletics podium after my second best 5k time ever ( and my fastest since 2021) of 16.46 was enough to get me the M50 silver at the Scottish 5k champs at a windy Silverknowes tonight. Gobsmacked and buzzing @CambuslangH @yhrfpod @Tartanshorts

88 attempts later and finally dipped under the 17 minutes at Strathclyde parkrun. 😂 in the grand scheme of things it doesn’t matter, but to a wee baldy 54 year old I’m pretty chuffed :) @CambuslangH

Good to mix it up with the @CambuslangH young team at the @stride_athletic flat n fast 5k. Grateful to still be able to compete, and my fastest 5k since 2021 (third fastest ever) at age 54.

The @scotathletics road relays today. My third since I rejoined @CambuslangH and my third gold going hand in hand with my third “fastest m50 Short leg”. Amazing team performance and great respectful camaraderie amongst our “rivals”.

Going back sub 17 for 5k, two weeks off my 54th birthday, was very pleasing today. It’s been a while. Great day at the #allanscallyrelays and the double prize of first M50 team and fastest M50 lap a real bonus. @CambuslangH
