#TheAcidTest is a worldwide patient-led #MECFS #LongCovid #VaccineInjured project using at-home devices, like GlucoRx & Edge, to measure lactate at waking & 1 hr after breakfast An official survey to collect results will come out soon https://t.co/Goj6MvFFwh

#TheAcidTest2? People with Long COVID and ME/CFS, would you want to participate in a study using continuous lactate monitors? The monitor would be similar to the CGMs available now & would be provided free. It would require daily symptom tracking & wearing the sensor for 30

Please contact me if you would like to get involved in this study. We know that some #pwME have high levels of lactic acid but there are no studies that identify what is normal during every day activity. We want to compare #pwme and healthy comparators. Thanks
🚨Now Recruiting "A pilot study to explore the everyday levels of lactic acid in people with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis and healthy controls" We are looking for 20 #pwme in N Wales, Liverpool, Manchester, Greater Manchester, Cheshire or South Lancashire https://t.co/5inrtZfyDU

first few days of #theacidtest: only one measurement >2, i.e. no really concerning values. Filled circles 1h after breakfast, empty ones after waking. Method is not very robust though, remeasured the high value twice (with new lancets) and it turned out much lower.

Felt today nausea, dizzy and sick in general. Took my lactate and it was 9,3mmol/L! An hour later with total rest & electrolytes dropped to 4,1, but still high I guess. 1/2 #acidtest @Vickyvdtogt @tessfalor

Interesting to see how my lactate rises 2 days post exertion, although I have spent the time in bed, dealing with PEM. Although it is not extremely high, I still can feel something is off. #TheAcidTest does anyone know if the lactate produced by brain is showing in blood tests?

Okay my lactate strips came in so I can continue #theacidtest Day 3 Morning: 0.5 mmol/L slept well, mcas flaring a bit but about average PEM. HRV very good last night. After eating: 0.7 mmol/L Feeling pretty decent, a bit on the low energy side, but not significant PEM.

#theacidtest day 4 Morning: 0.6 mmol/L 14 hour fast, feeling pretty low energy, above normal PEM, HRV dropped last night After eating: 1.3 mmol/L Still quite low energy and a fair amount of PEM, it does seem that my lactate levels went up with the severity of my PEM today

Thanks SO much to all who have used their energy on this. If we could ask a teeny bit more from you, we would ❤️ some more repeat entries: additional measurements from same person. If you have the spoons we would appreciate it #TheAcidTest could be really helpful once published!

#theacidtest Day 2 readings Morning: 0.5 mmol/L After eating: 0.7 mmol/L Interesting how my lactate measurements are decreasing as I recover from a crash over the weekend, I wish I had been able to take some readings while in the crash. Today I feel fairly average.
