In retrospect, GOI's move to increase the oil taxes in June 2020 has to be one of the boldest and fiscally responsibly decision ever taken. It allowed to stabilize the govt b/s in a challenging econ environment and now they can cut back without worrying too much about the deficit

No it isn’t. When TN generates economic output and tax is collected on it, a large share goes to centre, next large share goes to UP/Bihar and then a paltry amount comes to TN. That’s not redistribution as is commonly understood. It’s theft.
