@implausibleblog If you’re a voter and care about the climate PLEASE vote @TheGreenParty As @JonathanPieNews said on here, the people DO have power. We have a chance on July 4 to show what matters - NHS/support for vulnerable/clean rivers/seas, housing in right places/renewables.

Private medical insurance is so cheap in the UK because the NHS effectively subsidises it by: - Training staff - Handling emergencies - Caring for complex & chronic cases - Bailing out private hospitals when things go wrong US insurance is 5-10x as much because there’s no NHS!
The average cost of private medical care in the U.K. is £79.59. How much do people spend on Sky, Netflix, Spotify etc…? Most people can afford private medical and should take it out. Brilliant service, privately run and fast access and delivery.

@ShaunLintern According to Pulse’s data; Wealthy areas get real doctors, and deprived areas get the dangerous medical replacement experiment with risks to patients and the licenses of few doctors who remain in those deprived communities. Not all appointments in general practice are equal.

"It is a stain on our country that we have some of the poorest communities receiving the poorest care. We’ve got fewer GPs per head of population in the parts of the country that need them most, than we do in the parts of the country that need them least.”

I have sent a Freedom of Information request to the UK Govt that asks for confirmation of whether an ISDS mechanism was or is to be included in the UK-US trade deal. What is ISDS? Investor-State Dispute Settlement (ISDS) is a mechanism included in many international trade and
I see several issues about the so-called UK/US trade deal that merit scrutiny: This is absolutely not a free trade deal, despite how it might be framed in UK MSM headlines. What it actually is: A tariff reduction agreement - from 27.5% down to 10% on luxury cars for the wealthy

So @nationalgriduk why do you think it's acceptable to send compulsory purchase letters to residents and then not be able to explain what it means or where the pylons might go? I've just spent 30 mins with a distraught lady talking her through things & telling her how to get help

Will the Police now arrest the journalist Rod Liddle who wrote this piece about dropping a nuclear bomb on Glastonbury? Will @YvetteCooperMP also proscribe @TheSpectator as a terrorist organization? https://t.co/gpZH1BlHjK

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), under Secretary Liz Kendall, is pressing ahead with sweeping cuts to disabled people’s benefits set to take effect in 2026, despite widespread criticism and the absence of a comprehensive impact assessment. These reforms, aiming to cut

David Lammy, the UK's Shadow Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Affairs, received £70,000 from Israel lobbyist and South African apartheid profiteer Gary Lubner, one month into Gaza's genocide. The money, according to Lammy's parliamentary registered

Utterly heartbreaking. This cannot continue. With no journalists allowed in that war zone, brave surgeons like Victoria Rose are saving lives but also acting as important witnesses. And their testimony is crucial.
British surgeon Victoria Rose, who's just returned from Gaza: "They're coming through the doors like a conveyor belt... really small children with massive injuries.. bits of their bodies blown off... every day at least half [of my cases] were under the age of 11.. its barbaric"

Incontrovertible evidence is now in. Israel instructs Palestinian civilians to go to particular spots where it then bombs them. Israel has chosen war criminality and it pursues it relentlessly. Equally relentless must be the rest of the world in the pursuit of Israel's leaders
FA has documented a pattern of Israeli attacks on areas into which they have previously instructed civilians in Gaza to evacuate. Our research confirms that the Israeli military carried out multiple attacks in areas towards which civilians had been directed, either on the same

We have serious concerns about the endorsement from the government of Dr. Mary-Ann Stephenson to lead the EHRC.

It’s not economic growth, it’s economic terrorism. One of Britain’s largest care home chains, Care UK, has been sold to an American property investment company, in a deal that comes as private providers lobby the government for a greater role in the NHS. The health secretary, Wes

I just looked at my hospital bill for my last trip to the ER. They charged me 800$ for a single bag of saline. I looked it up and it only cost about 1-4$ to make that bag. The American healthcare system isn’t broken. It’s working exactly as it was designed to. Profits only.

The overwhelming majority of the electorate wants water renationalised. Why can't the government do what we want? It isn't their money. It's ours.

My call for an independent inquiry into the UK's role in Gaza has passed its 1st reading in Parliament. We will establish the truth over the UK’s complicity in genocide - and we will bring about justice for the Palestinian people.
