The boomers are largely retired now. Hitting the Xers with a stick by indexing retirement age is grossly unfair. People who work desk jobs maybe can work to 69, Jessica. But people are exhausted by 65, much less 67. And physical jobs are crippling by 60.
Agree. I love Romney, but the "no one over 55 should be touched by Social Security & Medicare reform" ship sailed 20 years ago. Grandfathering out 74 million boomers and waiting until the 2040s to begin (very) slowly phasing in reforms likely brings a debt crisis before then.

51-48: Senate blocks the Democrats' 3-year extension of the expiring enhanced ACA subsidies bill. 60 votes were needed. 4 Republican Senators Collins, Hawley, Murkowski and Sullivan voted Yes with all Democrats to advance it. Daines (R-MT) missed the vote.
