Electricity is a difficult issue for Democrats because Democrat-run states have much higher prices, and they’re caused by Democrats’ favorite policies, as Democratic economists now admit.
For now, Democrats are making political hay out of rising electricity prices. But blue states have consistently more expensive electricity than red states, and to win the issue long-term, Democrats need to embrace and *produce* cheap energy.

Here is a plan that would keep seniors out of poverty while cutting benefits for seniors who don’t need them. https://t.co/bkoRBYNvhR

Every time I mention the urgent need to cut Social Security, someone brings up poor seniors. OK, I have *no issue* with keeping seniors out of poverty. It’s programs keeping them in luxury I have an issue with. Max household SS benefits at 117k a year, for example. Obscene!
23% of the elderly live ONLY on Social Security. That's 16 million people. And we're going to tell them, "you don't need it"? Nah.

If your atheist morality leads to civilizational suicide, it is a bad morality. Even if you have a generous welfare state and low crime, as you fade away.

It’s strange to boast of the morality of secular nations if they are unable to reproduce, or provide for their own defense, and especially if they fall for secular cults (such as destroying their own energy production for the sake of the environment).

You can have morality without religion. Everyone has a morality. The question is which virtues your culture instills. The Christian God is Love, and also a warrior. Both the virtues of love, and of the warrior, are necessary for survival. Absent God, one or the other is lacking.
The most secular countries (Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Japan, Czech Republic, Estonia) consistently have lower violent crime, lower corruption, higher trust, higher charity giving per capita and higher overall well-being than highly religious countries.

This is another way seniors are unfair to younger generations. Decades of underinvestment in essential infrastructure, accumulated debt, and over-commitment elsewhere are setting us up for catastrophes, that we will be left to handle alone.

Sure, our defense factories date back to World War II, (or older!), and we lack adequate munitions stockpiles to fight a war, but let’s keep sending retired millionaires $60k+ a year in Social Security. That makes sense. What could go wrong?

Are AI data centers driving up electricity prices? Or Democrat policies? FACTS: -9 of 10 states with the fastest rise in electricity prices were under unified Dem control -7 of 10 states with the slowest increases were under unified R control

Climate activists definitely think I’m stupid, but I’d still love to hear one of them explain this contradiction If they’re right about alternatives to fossil fuels being better in every way, then the climate policy they should seek is just old fashioned free markets
If you thought Beyond Meat already tasted better, and was cheaper, than real meat, you wouldn’t be too worried about what would result from a hypothetical 5X increase in beef production over the next 75 years. Would you? Yet climate activists want you believe A.) solar and wind

America is on the verge of WWII level debt but without a functional defense base. So yeah we are going to have to make some trade-offs. No one’s given a single reason why benefits for retired millionaires should be sacrosanct.

Me: we are transferring too much money from younger workers to unproductive retirees, who do not need it Them: but what if we transferred even more from young to old? Would that fix it?
By simply removing the Social Security tax cap for high earners (a cap that I don’t even think most Americans know exists), you could cut the federal deficit by ~20%.
