(5/5 11:19 pm MDT) This is the current conditions on Lost Trail Pass, US-93. Expect snow levels to slowly lower this morning to around 6000 feet by 6am MDT. The morning commute could be slow on area passes such as MacDonald, Homestake, Lost Trail, Williams, and Gilmore Summit.

April 2024 was another month where most of our region was above normal temperatures. A fairly beneficial storm cycle developed late month and many sites were near normal precipitation. There was a slight change in snow water equivalent, mainly below 5000 feet. #MTwx #IDwx

A cool and wet pattern will return late Sun and remain in place through Wed. Below normal temps will bring mountain snow, with the potential for light snow in the valleys of western Montana (Monday morning). Gusty winds of 30-40 mph will also occur. #MTwx #IDwx

(4/30 8:11 pm) In the next hour an intense snow shower will pass over Homestake Pass. A weather spotter south of Butte called saying this shower created ZERO visibility and a 1/2" of snow in 20 minutes. Be prepared for greatly reduced visibility while driving. #Butte #I -90
