The !Kung San eat ~40% of their calories from mongongo nuts, which are ~60% PUFA, yet they are very lean (BMI ~19) and have good cardiovascular health. I don't think PUFAs, broadly, are behind the obesity epidemic.

I need more protein discourse. Peaters, thoughts on high versus low (total) protein? To get things rolling... Higher protein seems to be beneficial for body composition and liver health. Lower protein seems to increase the metabolic rate and decrease serotonin. Is it situational?

If you want to supplement with Zinc, it might be good to use the gluconate form as opposed to citrate, oxide and especially sulfate. Beware sulfate/chelate/citrate/picolinate forms. Gluconate was consistently lowest in the toxic metal.

Tried Naltrexone for 3 days, 1.5mg/day Positives: - Increased energy - Improved mood - Seemingly increased digestive movement Negatives: - Insomnia (even taking it in the morning, also lasted the next day after I stopped) - Obsessiveness (this is probably ADHD related)

Yes, exactly. Linoleic acid is the timber. MUFA (and other PPAR-a activators) is the spark. SFA is an extinguisher. What y'all are not ready for... SFA is also a grenade (TLR4). PUFA deactivates the SFA grenade. Extinguish the fire with SFA. Deactivate the grenade with PUFA.

Right. This is my point. The beef tallow and the safflower oil mice are about the same fat (in the study you posted). Which is weird if “linoleic acid causes obesity”.

Here is my stab at “the best diet” from what ik rn 1. Cut out anything that digests poorly/causes a bad reaction 2. Cut out (or be extremely skeptical of) all processed food 3. Hit basic nutrient requirements. Supplements generally work besides the metals (Cu, Zn, Fe, etc.)

Been folate-maxxing lately. Folate gives me irritability, restless legs, anxiety, insomnia, and sometimes depression. In spite of this, it has significantly reduced my acne. Will be investigating further

I find vitamin E warming/energizing. My midday temp is usually ~98.2, but measured 99 with vitamin E. This is consistent with how I feel as well

Easy test to figure out what serotonin really feels like: Eat a big meal of only starch (like rice) with no fat or protein. The high insulin response causes the body to soak up proteins that compete with tryptophan, allowing it to convert to serotonin. (it feels bad)

Weird how I struggled with morning water retention the most on low carb diets. After switching to high carb (about 60% of my caloric intake), the dreaded moon face went away.
