You could follow up with "Is Greenland closer to the US than Mauritius is to Chagos?" for a giggle.

The questions to Nandy should have been "does Labour condemn Trump attempting to annex Greenland against the wishes of the Greenlanders?", followed by "does Labour believe it is wrong to give Mauritius sovereignity over Chagos against the wishes of the Chagossians?".

Unpopular opinion: I suspect if you offered 60k Greenlanders $1M each it would shorten the process and cost less than tariffs. Who’s seen Local Hero?

My only view re. The Greenland Tariffs - beyond the obvious fact they're mental - is that I think we know for a fact that Trump is more likely to climb down from these tariffs than say, JD Vance would. US foreign policy is unpredictable, but that is preferable to the alternative

Watch the entire political class coalesce around a trade war over Greenland, while we surrender Northern Ireland to the EU and the Chagos Islands to a Chinese proxy. They aren't fit to lace our shoes.

A terrible idea. President Trump is completely wrong to announce tariffs on the UK over Greenland. People in both UK and US will face higher costs. These tariffs will be yet another burden for businesses across our country. The sovereignty of Greenland should only be decided by

Starmer says the UK will pursue the matter with the US administration and adds that the position of Greenland is "a matter for the Greenlanders and the Danes" But yet he is selling off the Chagos Islands and selling out the Chagossians to Mauritius without giving them any say.

Trump threatens additional 10% tariff (on top of existing ones) on Denmark, Sweden, Norway, the UK, France, Germany, Finland, the Netherlands starting February 1st over Greenland. By June, rate would increase to 25% payable until a sale for the complete ownership of the territory

British-Iranian comedian Ohmid Dijali calls out Keir Starmer’s government for not labelling the IRGC terrorists: “By not putting the IRGC on the terrorist list it means we are somehow involved with this regime….they’ve just killed 12,000 protesters.”

I’ve never understood why more towns don’t put in Stone Circles like Stonehenge, they are a good tourist attraction, cheap to install and require very little maintenance or staff.

This (a weird approach to distinctions between tactics and strategy) has become a popular interpretation of Badenoch sacking Jenrick instead of letting him resign and get a tactical advantage. It is nonsense.

@TheCriticMag @baylissbaghdad A short article, but it says all that needs to be said. Kemi Badenoch has won a tactical victory, but one that foreshadows a strategic disaster. Robert Jenrick is temporarily diminished, but spared the task of leading an unleadable party. The dust has cleared, the die is cast.

As I keep saying, all those more-in-sorrow-than-anger articles by disappointed Starmer cheerleaders mourning his lack of "vision" invert the truth: Starmer is full of big plans; he's just too incompetent to empty the #bins. If you can't get the basics right, everything is doomed.

In Britain, if you do your duty, they hound you through the courts. If you don't, they let you retire on a full pension. As an expert on 'fucked up', I can confirm this is pretty fucked up.

The new BA tier points structure sets impossible hurdles even for frequent flyers regularly using business or first. I have always planned my extensive and expensive global travel through London to use BA. These days are over. I will now use whatever airline is most convenient
