Standing to be Labour's candidate in South Leicestershire. Promoted by David Gair on behalf of Robert Parkinson, both at 61 Coventry Road, Lutterworth, LE17 4QF
It's not often you get the chance to represent the area you grew up in.
I'm delighted to be standing in South Leicestershire at the General Election on 4th July for the Labour Party.
There's a lot of communities out there who are asking for change.
I'm proud to offer that.
Adding my name to the long list of brilliant campaigners who have travelled to Selby to help get
@Mather_Keir
elected as a
@UKLabour
MP to Parliament 🌹
Chuffed doesn't come close, to say I was elected as the Chair of the constituency-wide Labour Party here in Bosworth last night.
Thanks to the members for putting their faith in me for the year ahead.
Looking forward to working with the new committee for the year ahead. 🌹
🚨Proud son alert!🚨
So happy for mum receiving a Long Service Award from the Labour Party.
Joined in 1982; there during the good & hard times; supported countless others be elected; always first to arrive at an event to help set-up & last to leave.
My role model in politics.
In one of the world's richest countries, it is a national scandal that we have children going hungry.
I'm proud to have spoken on behalf of my union UNISON at this year's TUC Congress, on the need for free school meals.
No child should go hungry. It's a cost of living scandal.
Health Care Assistants are amongst the lowest paid staff in the health service, with many being women and other minorities.
Their fair demand for back pay to reflect the actual work carried out is a just one.
With them all the way
#PayFairForPatientCare
Labour’s

for Working People will mean better job security and create a Britain that works for working people.
Delighted to have been invited by Labour's candidate for Northampton South Mike Reader, to speak at the constituency's trade union rally on the New Deal.
From Wellingborough by-election to Westminster. So pleased to have been in the chamber today to hear
@Gen_Kitchen_MP
's maiden speech.
A strong champion for the constituency, Gen is proving to be a marvellous Member of Parliament, the fresh start needed.
As a regular rail user I know firsthand the importance of staffed ticket offices.

My trade union UNISON is the largest union in the UK.
Union reps across the UK fight each day to secure better conditions for members, through negotiating with employers, creating safer workplaces & promoting equality.

We have fantastic candidates across our region. We're here to getting
@Keir_Starmer
into No. 10.
I am delighted to be the candidate for Grantham and Bourne in the upcoming general election.
We’ve been out in Grantham Market today and I am overwhelmed with support and look forward to meeting as many residents as possible.

Great to discuss with Shadow Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds the challenges facing businesses in Leicestershire today.
The Labour Party is supportive of the needs of business.
Good to have been out this afternoon doorknocking in the villages around Loughborough, to promote Labour's Parliamentary Candidate Jeevun Sandher and our Leicestershire Police and Crime Commissioner candidate Rory Palmer.
Delighted to hand over a much coveted
@unisontheunion
Labour Link umbrella to one of our own,
@jacob_collier_
in Burton-upon-Trent!
A dedicated campaigner, may it serve him well ⛱️
🚨Hot off the press!🚨
In a win for rail passengers, the consultation has been extended to 1st September!
This allows the public more time to have your say on the proposed changes to our railway network

Another great weekend filled with campaigning for Labour across Leicestershire, supporting Dr Jeevun Sandher Parliamentary Candidate for Loughborough, and Rory Palmer our Police and Crime Commissioner candidate.
Andrew Bridgen's antics have gone on for far too long.
It's time for North West Leicestershire to have a say on choosing a better alternative.
We were out this afternoon delivering Labour's message, sharing the positive work of the County Labour Group led by Cllr Amanda Hack.
The Labour Link within UNISON is our vehicle as a trade union to directly influence Labour Party policy.
Delighted to have chaired a workshop at UNISON National Young Members Conference this year on the role and function of Labour Link and the trade union voice in politics.
Kettering is my home, so I know it deserves better. I am proud to submit my application to become Kettering’s next Labour MP.
The people of our towns and villages have been left behind under the Tories; it’s time for a change. 👇🏼
Statement from my region
@UNISONEastMids
regarding
@Greg4Broxtowe
being excluded from standing for Broxtowe constituency.
We're asking that the decision is revisited by Labour's NEC.
🔴 STATEMENT |
@Greg4Broxtowe
is one of our own. UNISON East Midlands is asking that the decision to exclude him from the shortlist in Broxtowe is revisited.
In Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland, it’s Labour with the best chance to beat the Tories.
Don’t risk more Conservative chaos.
There’s no second preference option on the ballot.
My plan for Safer Streets & Stronger Communities:
It's dual by-election day in Glen Parva, South Leicestershire! 🌹
Windy conditions, but festive spirit will keep us warm throughout the day🎄

Hospitality staff are some of the most vulnerable in getting home after a shift due to the precarious hours they work.
Street lights may have been turned off, or public transport could have stopped operating.
Pleased to support

campaign, Get Me Home Safely
Out campaigning in Derby for
@LabourinDerby

Nearly 100 Labour supporters signed up for postal votes today by hard-working and diligent

We're back out on a noisy

picket line outside the Leicester Royal Infirmary.
Hear first-hand from striking Health Care Assistants on why they've decided to take industrial action 👇

talk on the Amazon strikes and I shared news about Labour's New Deal for Working People. Thanks to Hamish Falconer and the local Party for organising.
So proud of my mum for organising another successful Women's Aid coffee morning, in the week of International Women's Day.
Great turn out, fab selection of cakes (very important) and raised over £150 for the charity.
The sheer number and variety of businesses at Labour Party Conference the other month, as seen by the world's media and thousands of attendees like myself, strongly suggests your assessment is wrong Kemi.
It was sad to hear from some investors yesterday that they’d move their HQs out of 🇬🇧 if Labour win.
They tell me Labour relentlessly talk down the UK economy.
Labour are like one of those candidates on The Apprentice who get fired early on.
All big talk and no substance…8/9
Tremendous amount of support in Loughborough tonight for the brilliant Labour candidates for May's local elections.
Always good to catch-up with the hard-working Labour Parliamentary Candidate for Loughborough
@JeevunSandher
whilst we're knocking doors 🌹
I've been out this evening in Barwell delivering my leaflet, telling people about my ambitions for the village and how Labour can make a difference locally.
For the Borough elections, electors in Barwell can cast 3 votes on May 4th.
Use them to vote Labour! 🌹🌹🌹
It was great to be invited back to my old school, Lutterworth College, recently to share with students my career path since leaving the school.
The jobs market is a tough place but it was great to hear the ambitions and aspirations of the young people in the room.
Out in Leicester this evening with local Labour Councillor Molly O'Neil and my fellow UNISON and Co-op Party activist Vipul Bechar, campaigning for

As the largest union in the care sector, I'm proud to support
@unisontheunion
campaign for a National Care Service.
The current care system fails the most vulnerable in our society and needs fundamental change.
Great to join Harborough Labour for their leafleting session today in Market Harborough.
We delivered leaflets for
@Rory_Palmer
too, as part of his Police and Crime Commissioner campaign.
Out tonight in Church Gresley to gain a Labour seat on Derbyshire County Council.
It's the final push for Labour's candidate Alan Haynes, in this by-election. Every vote counts! 🌹

Kudos to this
@unisontheunion
member in the Ambulance Service on Newsnight tonight, highlighting the government is failing the public by inadequately funding health services.
Best of luck to those trade union members taking strike action.
It shouldn't have come to this.
Another great meeting of the Leicestershire Cooperative Party today, followed by a canvassing session for the Charnwood Borough Council by-election.
Thanks to Loughborough's Prospective Parliamentary Candidate Dr Jeevun Sandher for being our guest speaker.
Sunny afternoon spent where else, but with Labour friends speaking to residents in Glen Parva, South Leicestershire, in the run up to next week's council by-election! 🌹
Official launch of Labour's campaign in Barwell today!
Brilliant flying start to our conversations with residents, who are connecting with what Labour has to offer locally.
Thanks to Barwell Fish Bar for their sponsorship of the launch and to the campaign volunteers.
Lot of conversations had this morning in Lutterworth with local residents, hearing about local issues such as green areas. We gained lots of signatures for our traffic calming petition
The last 14 years of Tory government have resulted in many crimes not being dealt with, leaving communities feeling unsafe.
I spoke with Shadow Police Minister Alex Norris today about the issues residents in Leicestershire face around crime and anti-social behaviour.
Putting my time down in London to good use - meeting up with labour and union friends, and now at the
@CWUnews
rally at Parliament Square to show support for posties and other Royal Mail workers.

Can't think of a better way to spend my birthday, down supporting

Thanks to Rushcliffe Labour Party for inviting me to talk this week on the New Deal.
Best of luck to the newly selected Parliamentary Candidate

Wasn't expecting to stumble across a climate protest Christmas tree in Sheffield Cathedral🎄
A mock Christmas gift from the fossil fuel industry to the church, highlighting that parts of the Church of England invest in non-renewable energy. 💚
As a former library worker I completely empathise with those still working in the service who are telling UNISON local gov. conference about the startling impacts budget cuts have on staff & communities. This can't go on forever. They are a great resource: support our libraries!
Absolutely blown away by how well attended our
@LabourinH_Burb
fundraiser was last night!
At capacity with over 60 tickets sold, raised over £600 and were treated to East Midlands big hitters Alex Norris and Catherine Atkinson.
Thanks to our speakers and all who attended. 🌹

You'll make an amazing candidate for Harborough, Oadby and Wigston Hajira, somebody who knows how to make an impactful difference.
It's a privilege to have been selected as your Labour & Co-operative candidate for Harborough, Oadby & Wigston. This place is my home and I won't stand by and let Tory austerity destroy our communities. I will be your champion and won't let you down 🌹
We had a fruitful (and dry!) afternoon campaigning in Glen Parva in the County/District by-election.
Clearly an appetite for the change Labour are offering 🌹

Chilly morning yet an incredibly warm response on the

Lutterworth residents are fed up about their town being overlooked and care deeply about the traffic & associated air quality issues in the area.
We've been out this evening talking to residents of Clifton West, promoting Labour's fantastic candidates
