In 2017 I went to rural Wyoming to see a total eclipse. I've never had another experience like it. Yet. On 8 April 2024, another solar eclipse will cross North America. And I'm going to Dallas to see it. But that's not all I'm doing. Far from it. Welcome to #EclipseByRail!

Preston continues to be a total idiot unable to tell the difference between the law and what has been come out with as guidance by a rigged quango. Heaven forfend we have any actually informed journalists.
"It's a £100,000 a pub just to put in a few staff loos" Sir Tim Martin says he doesn't yet know the answer to how Wetherspoons will provide toilets for trans people #Peston

With both the Catholic and Anglican churches now looking for a new leader, it's a perfect time for a merger. (So long as King Charles III gets to own the Vatican)

All of my friends do at least one of 3 things: - wake up at fuck-all o-clock to go take pictures of a train painted slightly different - travel to another city to go ride the most doohickey transit line - continuously make maps for things that will never exist
new employees at our company have to list three interests and it’s always: travel, hiking, working out cooking, soccer, gardening camping, running, travel climbing, skiing, basketball

Romania and Bulgaria joined the Schengen Area on January 1st. By accident, a dog surprised by the commotion was the first to cross the Romanian-Hungarian border without having to go through a border control. Everyone present applauded the dog

Can someone explain to me why train companies seem so keen on making sure passengers follow their terms and conditions, but when it's the other way round (National Rail Conditions of Travel), it seems fine to ignore? @LouHaigh @AvantiWestCoast
@jackfifield Hi Jack. As we do have services running today, tickets dated today only won't be valid for travel tomorrow, unfortunately. If you wish to travel tomorrow, you can claim a refund and rebook your ticket. I apologise for any inconvenience caused. - Kim

Occasionally, the YouTube algorithm just gets it right. Here's a guy redesigning the Slovak Railways (ZSSK) livery and brand so it...you know, doesn't suck. It currently has 705 views. I don't think it'll have so few views for much longer. https://t.co/aoJ3rbZ8SE

“So it’s not about you, it’s not about your farm and the fact you bought a farm to avoid inheritance tax?” @vicderbyshire speaks to Jeremy Clarkson at the farmers’ protest in Westminster where thousands of farmers are protesting the government’s inheritance tax plans.

The four day week thing is absolutely mad isn’t it. So much evidence to support it, but we are just absolutely determined to be miserable instead
