Trump's impulsive move to resume nuclear testing puts U.S. into nuclear rogue state status. U.S. is only "no" vote on UN resolution in support of the 1996 treaty banning all nuclear test blasts, the CTBT, which the U.S. and 186 other states have signed https://t.co/3PIBB38Fyp

New nuclear tests are unnecessary escalation by a President who doesn’t seem to be paying attention. The Chinese and the Russians HAVEN’T conducted a recent test of a nuclear warhead. It’s been decades. If we resume testing our weapons (which we have no reason to do) China will

80 years after America’s bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, “the risk is going back up, the number of weapons is going back up,” @NTI_WMD CEO @ErnestMoniz tells me. “They should not be thought of as military weapons but as weapons of… indiscriminate mass destruction.”

Reminder that the GOP has more margin for error on the reconciliation vote because three Dems (ages 70, 77, and 75) died in office so far this year. One ran for reelection last year while already fighting cancer.

Under the JCPOA, Iran shipped its nuclear fuel out of the country and there were inspectors at Fordow. When you bomb Iran, they move their HEU and hide it and there are no inspections. Diplomacy works better than war. This is not a hard message.

You can’t bomb away nuclear know how. What’s the end game other than endless war? Would the US negotiate with someone who just launched an unprovoked attack on our country after unilaterally tearing up a nuclear deal?

The American public is overwhelmingly opposed to the U.S. waging war on Iran. And the Israeli Foreign Minister admitted yesterday that Israeli bombing had set the Iranian nuclear program back “at least 2 or 3 years.” So what made Trump recklessly decide to rush and bomb today?

These words—“Iran is at the point that it can produce a nuclear weapon within weeks to months”—appear nowhere in the testimony.
The dishonest media is intentionally taking my testimony out of context and spreading fake news as a way to manufacture division. America has intelligence that Iran is at the point that it can produce a nuclear weapon within weeks to months, if they decide to finalize the

I see @SangerNYT asked why Israel hasn't hit the stockpile of enriched uranium. My understanding is that the hex is stored in the tunnels at Isfahan and Israel hasn't been able to destroy the hard, deeply buried targets. Thread.

This is not our war. But if it were, Congress must decide such matters according to our Constitution. I’m introducing a bipartisan War Powers Resolution tomorrow to prohibit our involvement. I invite all members of Congress to cosponsor this resolution.
