The massive risk factor that has become very clear from all of this is what I am calling for purposes of this thread "social media risk".

Re: SVB crisis. Solid tactical list for CEOs and finance teams impacted. Additional items: 1. Consider factoring receivables 2. Consider asking customers to prepay for a discount 3. Put dates on key decision points 4. Confirm the date payroll is pulled (not paid to EEs)
If you are the CEO or CFO at a business who banks with SVB; here are some things you CAN do over the weekend 1. Build a 4 week rolling daily receipts and payments style cashflow forecast. 2. Gear up finance team to actualize & reforecast every AM by 10am

SERIOUS POST: If you’re a founder/CEO who banks at SVB and you don’t have a CFO & a cash-flow forecast for the next 13 weeks, I’ll work with you to build one ASAP. 100% pro bono. I’m an investor and SaaS CFO who has built countless of these. DMs open. Or robert@rocketmodel.us.

Cash is king. Keep a close eye on your business fundamentals and that financial model. Evaluate and readjust. Was definitely not expecting SVB to get shut down. Hell I was queuing to buy the dip. Insane. $JPM should buy $SIVB It’s going to be a wonky ride.
A lot of stuff gets really messed up when borrowing rates go from 3% to 7% in 12 months. Banks have problems. Real estate has problems. Companies have problems. We’re gonna see a lot of stuff like this and it’ll be a rough few years ahead.

I’ve been thinking about what it takes to Bootstrap a business, and eventually want to create a Bootstrappers Manifesto online course. But in the meantime, here are some steps that I used to grow ButcherBox to a $600M business while never taking funding:

Hey 👋🏽 @elonmusk I’ve been trying to regain access to my company account @LaCriollaInc for some time but stuck in the automated help loop. Lost the phone used for 2FA but have email/ can reset password. The automated help emails and canned responses are useless. Can you help?

I sold my startup 2 years ago I knew nothing about personal finance when I set up my business But at acquisition, I realized there were lots of things I *should* have done from a tax & estate planning perspective This is what I would do today (aka learn from my mistakes) 👇👇
