A generic GP Practice Manager in England.
Joined February 2021
@BorisJohnson @sajidjavid @DailyMailUK @Daily_Express @Telegraph @TheSun @TheBMA @Conservatives - you all need to take a good long look in the mirror as you all have a responsibility for primary care failing despite our hard work to maintain it. History will blame you all.

Why is it that some Practice Managers are valued by their GP partners but many are treated appallingly?

Is it April 1st? Isn't this the DWPs actual responsivility? And where the actual f#ck do practices find the space? The people who come up with this tripe are seriously clueless!

Been away for a while as it's been absolutely relentless for practice managers. Seriously wonder how long many of us can last working at this pace and complexity, with more and more demand placed on us by staff, partners, PCNs and ICBs

The 'new' government led by @RishiSunak clearly has not bothered to talk to anyone who has expertise in general practice. Like most things it's not as simple as it first appears and this policy would have a negative net impact on our resources.
Firstly, this will cost more for staff to do the paperwork, than it makes. And secondly, which patients do you think miss appointments most frequently? Vulnerable patients, patients struggling the most, patients with no transport. They deserve care. 👉 https://t.co/gFtMEtHvX4

This is stark raving bonkers. As if we have time to assess patients financial position! We don’t have enough clinical staff to provide health care as it is 😡

You cannot build a perfect health system without a solid foundation. The NHS needs underpinning first as it’s subsiding and close to collapse. @NHSEngland @NHSTransform @TheBMA @nmcnews @rcgp
"NHS England looking for ‘quick wins’ to improve GP access this year" Quick win recipe 1️⃣ Print out 19/20 AA compensation policy 2️⃣ Cross out 19/20, write 22/23 3️⃣ Announce it QUICKLY (before masses head for exit) RT if you think this will help

Rest in peace Gail. This is on all who have starved primary care of adequate funding and ignored the warnings over the last 12 years and continue to do so. @NHSEngland @Conservatives @BorisJohnson @Jeremy_Hunt @theresa_may @David_Cameron @10DowningStreet

Sadly this describes where we are now 😢
Have you ever wondered what the collapse of the NHS would actually look like? It's in the small things - my latest @Independent newsletter: https://t.co/Xg6u9Fu3Kw

The NHS is the largest protector of highly sensitive and confidential information in the world. The current plans for data risk it’s reputation. Also the plans to give patients full access in July without the resource or means to redact data will cause legal issues in the future.

A sadly an all to common occurrence and receptionists hear that phrase a lot too 😢
@DrPeterWeeks1 @drpoco True but hard to accept. Just had colleague burst into tears in practice meeting - GP 30 years, says can't go on like this, had abusive call this morning from pt seen AE last night, offered F2F appt in an hour and not good enough, 'it'll be her fault if he dies' - all too much

National insurance rises to fund Health & social care. Below inflation uplift to GP contract for 22/23 and no funding of staff employer NI cost increase. Most will be left with less resource than 21/22. So where’s the “new” money going?

Government plan making a more concerted effort to work GPs into the ground?
Breaking: A GP will be required to cover all enhanced access shifts offered by #PCNs, @NHSEngland confirmed today

So yet again we start to find out the new guidelines/ rules by reading it the media first. Lots of questions unanswered as usual. This is so unfair! @NikkiKF @NHSEngland @pulsetoday @DHSCgovuk @sajidjavid

The list of who can get free tests after 1 April in England is now out, but most people will have to pay.

Well done @BBCCountryfile for an excellent piece on the issues in General Practice, particularly rural practices.

I want my Country back.
"The government have actively avoided looking for evidence Russia interfered." The Intelligence & Security Committee's Stewart Hosie says the government didn't investigate alleged Russian interference in the Brexit vote and no-one wanted to touch this "with a ten-foot pole".
