This update has quite a lot of UX/UI improvements, bug fixes, and most notably built-in Tor and Monero polyseed mnemonic support.
Welcome to the Samourai Atomic Swaps Public Beta.
This desktop application makes it very easy to trustlessly swap BTC<->XMR, completely over Tor.
In public beta, expect some bugs, and a "dev UI". The actual UI is still in development :)

Heard Uniswap is adding KYC for their new v4.
Just want to boast and say that there are absolutely NO plans to implement KYC in the upcoming Samourai BTC-XMR atomic swaps program. It would also simply be impossible to implement and enforce due to how it is designed.
sending XMR anonymously, privately to irl friends. transaction confirms in ~2 minutes, 0.00003 XMR tx fee, while BTC maxis cry about ordinals and have to RBF their transaction every 30 minutes to beat the mempool, while getting traced by Chainalysis
imagine being a BTC maxi right now lol
- mempool is fucked, transactions stuck for days/weeks because of jpegs
- LN broken because of high fees, pushed to custodial solutions
- charlie lee coin surpassing btc in daily transactions, without congestion
- traced by chainalysis
Another sneak peek of the atomic swaps program I've been working on.
Monero sellers are fetched via a server that can be self-hosted and ran completely over Tor.
Sellers themselves can also run completely over Tor.
Program pairs with Samourai Wallet using its pairing payload.

Wasabi funds and cooperates with chain analysis companies, censors UTXOs, and has a broken coinjoin protocol. Do not use Wasabi.

That's not a DoS attack. That's how the Bitcoin Core developers want it. They have quite literally celebrated this exact thing before.
If you want quick, low-fee payments, use Monero or Bitcoin Cash
No, Lightning’s not broken, yes we have work to do, no, you don’t need to worry.
I’ve always been very consistent - Lightning is (currently) for channel counterparties you trust to not to do a ton of work to build novel software to attack you. This hasn’t changed.
Didn't need to use a vulnerable, centralized, custodial swap service like
@FixedFloat
, nor rely on fraudulent exchanges with fractional reserves like
@Binance
.
This swap only took about 15 minutes from depositing BTC to getting XMR (got lucky with block times just now).
@OurielOhayon
Horrible thread, especially suggesting to pay for passwords(?????) and renting a bank vault (not your keys, not your coins).
To anyone reading, don't fall for this psyop. It only costs a few bucks for beginners to self-custody.
This has the same vibe as those "help me budget my finances" that are like:
Rent: $1000
Food: $200
Shopping: $10,000
At its core, self-custody cost a few bucks if you are able to write down 12 words with a pen and paper.
Don't fall for this psyop.
I setup an onion-monero-blockchain-explorer instance over Tor/I2P for those that want to use it:

Been using this client on mainnet via Tor to swap doxxic BTC change to XMR for a bit, while we're developing and testing it. Works great :) We've been spending the past couple weeks polishing UX/UI and fixing bugs

One of my favorite party tricks when introducing people to lightning is to have them install Wallet of Satoshi, and then sending them 1 sat.
That's both trust based and lightning.
Not easy to do better than that without needlessly fragmenting the marketplace.

You don't need a CEX to swap to/from Monero, and this delisting helps reduce EABE attacks, so thanks for making XMR more private/anonymous Binance lmfao
Mysu 0.5.6 is now available on the website (Tor/I2P), via the F-Droid repository (Tor), and via I2P torrent! (will upload to the I2P Gitea later)
This update has quite a lot of UX/UI improvements, bug fixes, and most notably built-in Tor and Monero polyseed mnemonic support.
We have been doing a lot of testing, fixing bugs, and more in the past few months.
This swaps program has been my primary method for swapping BTC<->XMR on mainnet during this time.
For all the new followers unaware:
Mysu is a no-bullshit XMR wallet I develop in my spare time. No fiat shit, no price charts, no swap services, just a cryptocurrency wallet.
Features coin control, Tor/I2P proxy support, and seed offset support.
After quite a bit of testing (and me partially forgetting to push the update out recently) Mysu 0.4.4.5 is now available via website, F-Droid, Gitea, and I2P torrent!
This update brings coin control improvements, and significantly reduces the apk size for all variants
This tweet thread fails to mention that the researcher who "traced" the transactions (and not even 100%) had been given info of the private keys of the origin wallet, which allowed for much more data to be gathered about the transactions.
Funds from a recent Monero theft were traced. 🤯
It's an edge case and Monero is really hard to trace, but still possible. Three big lessons:
1⃣ The decoy model for privacy is fundamentally insufficient because it always leaks some data. Long-term, zero-knowldge or GTFO.

@JosephTheParrot
Permissionless crowdfunding for development of open-source, permissionless firearms, using open-source, permissionless, untraceable digital currency. 😎
What I've shown and discussed about the atomic swaps GUI so far is just the tip of the iceberg; there's still a lot of shit in progress and more planned. :)
man it'd suck if big banks/governments co-opted the bitcoin protocol early on and made it as unusable as possible to convince the general population that blockchains don't scale and are useless as currency and to just stick with credit cards
that'd really suck wouldn't it
From the GitHub thread about the XMR CCS wallet incident:
bb77d03cae08942f43cccd759ade505a1c9435470a4a2cabfa5e26d2c93d1a58 is the most likely candidate for where the XMR went afterwards, but following it further will become more and more difficult.
@xenumonero
Unsure if my tool was used, but someone found this tx:
bb77d03cae08942f43cccd759ade505a1c9435470a4a2cabfa5e26d2c93d1a58
That spends 9 of the outputs from the theft transactions the very next day (September 2)
Though, the tx does have 11 outputs which is pretty odd.
Hey look
@ewarren
, an easy-to-use GUI program to trustlessly, and anonymously, swap your mixed Bitcoin to the untraceable Monero over the Tor network.
Fuck you.
@xenumonero
if I understand correctly, they made the seed, shared half of it via Wire (LMAO), kept the hot wallet on a Windows install, and kept the CCS wallet on an Ubuntu server (basically another hot wallet)
kinda sounds like they were asking for it tbh
The
@SECGov
twitter account was compromised, and an unauthorized tweet was posted. The SEC has not approved the listing and trading of spot bitcoin exchange-traded products.
You *cannot* have freedom without anonymity and privacy.
The founding fathers of the US recognized this in the fucking 1700s.
Do not let subhumans like this convince you otherwise.
