Thanks for educating yourself. The danger is low for people of our age group but this could be very devasting for our elderly population. It's important to realize that many younger people can still carry it without significant symptoms, but pass it on to others.

Rita 2005 was the first big storm for SW Louisiana since Audrey 1957. Ike 2008 was terrible for surge then Laura 2020 was the worst wind event ever recorded in the area. Here in Lafayette we seem to dodge all the bullets to out west and east, hopefully the magic luck continues...
