Here is another video update from us here at SWPC as the final CME has arrived. Hopefully these help, please let us know if you find them useful and we'll see what we can do for future events. Stay space weather aware at https://t.co/TV7Yw6LXRw

I will say that in recent past events, the second wave has been less exciting than the first so I would temper expectations.

For the possibility of northern lights viewing tonight, assuming it gets as far south as last night, the Houston area will have clouds this evening, however we may hit a sweet spot between like 6 and 10 PM where skies are just partly cloudy before going mostly cloudy overnight.

Writing isn't in my CV but I do a lot of it nowadays! I find writing done right the best way to message important science and forecasts. Looking forward to joining @mattlanza and @kmmalloy tomorrow at 11:30 AM ET to discuss our approaches to striking a chord online.

No worries. Earth has seen far worse than this. Even the big storm of May 2024 was easily absorbed and exhausted by our planet's magnetic system. Actually, that is exactly what #aurora is-- it's the Earth shedding excess energy the storm feeds it in the form of dancing lights!
@TamithaSkov I,m kinda scared for tomorrow if this x 1.2 did that

SWPC indicates that 2 of 3 geomagnetic storms have arrived and the 3rd, due in midday tomorrow, is likely to be the largest. More aurora expected tomorrow evening!

Northern Lights visible from Lake Conroe! This is the second time in the last few years we were able to see them. Never gets less awesome. #txwx @SpaceCityWX @mattlanza

One of our forecasters (it's me, I'm the forecaster) got this shot of the aurora over the University of Oklahoma campus a few minutes ago. If we can see it with the naked eye given that level of light pollution, you likely can too! We'd love to see your pictures.
