There’s always DO slander but where’s the MD slander? Do they even know what a right anterior innominate is? Or a left on left sacral torsion? Well I have an exam on Monday and neither do I 😅🥲😔 *Jk I partially know what an innominate is* *jk jk there should be no slander*

Q: Are you affirming that you think President Trump is a fascist? MAMDANI: I've spoken about-- TRUMP: That's okay. You can just say yes. I don't mind.

Patients especially those from families that don’t pursue higher education do not know what medical school is. I HATED being called student doctor until I started rotations and now I introduce myself that way to clear up confusion that I’m not a nursing/PA/PT student
@fuqekgs Sorry, I might not get the context, but...why not just say, "I'm in medical school"? I have always readily distinguished that from "nursing school" whenever it is used.

I'm not shading nurses at all. I'm a medical student/student doctor, not a nurse. It's like calling an electrical engineer a civil engineer or a mechanical engineer.
@fuqekgs Because God forbid anyone should mistake you for a nurse, that would really be awful

Thank you all for the positive comments. I cannot share it because I reveal a lottttt of personal information (obvi, it’s a PS lol) and I do not want to be doxxed. I also am not really a fan of my writing I just got tired of editing it so I submitted it
My last interview today said my personal statement was the best she’d read out of all the applicants this year and she was so excited to meet me she made sure she interviewed me. Yall I cried as soon as that interview was over. I’m taking this with me to match

Never in my 28.4 years of existence has anyone been excited I’m from my small town until today and it’s so exciting to be interviewed by people that know the area and are passionate about serving my folks 🩷🩷🩷

Like I know we as DOs (and future DOs) are more in tune with what we’re feeling but are MDs taught to wear gloves or did you pick this up? Like wearing gloves to check for edema inpatient was crazy to me like I just washed my hands after

I’ve made a really weird observation I need to share. When my preceptors are MDs they put gloves on to examine a patient, but the DO preceptors do not. I was taught in school to never wear gloves (unless bodily fluids present obvi) bc my sense of touch would be limited

I am quite literally so overwhelmed I could not imagine already being an intern. What yall need to do is standardize pre-clinical curriculum, get rid of COMLEX (add a OMM section to USMLE), completely reimagine MATCH bc wtf, and lower education costs to students.
Agreed. This would help a lot to reduce the rising debt burden. There’s plenty of room to streamline the curriculum and several schools have already done so successfully
