I can’t believe how many Year 11s came to an optional 4.15pm Friday masterclass session on ‘Monstrous women and misogyny in Macbeth’. There was some civilised gatecrashing which I feigned disproval at but of course I was secretly proud of them. ❤️

Lambeth council are disgraceful: they put the community behind St John’s the Divine Primary school through the maximum distress possible but instead of apologising for legal errors & offering support for a brilliant school given a lifeline; they issue a hostile press release.

WE WON. Lambeth Council cruelly voted to shut down an exceptional school — but the school, its parents, and its community fought tooth & nail for their children. Against all odds, an education adjudicator ruled to keep it open. Even when it feels impossible, fight the good fight.
Heartbroken @benkind @lambeth_council don’t understand how vital St John the Divine Primary school is to social cohesion & justice. Serving the dangerous Brandon Estate, it’s a lifeline, the bedrock to a safe community & offers an exceptional education. Don’t close our school.
