SkillsBench paper is getting another news cycle. It's awesome & we're playing with its ideas @corralai, but it reiterates something underrated: we're still in the drop stage of what is an ocean of structure you can put around LLMs to yield wild efficiency

2026 ai bubble is peaking itself right now: someone just dropped a new benchmark on claude skills and the result of their paper is actually insane the paper explicitly states smaller models with skills beat larger models without them a smaller model like claude 4.5 haiku

funny how often people use “is ai a bubble?” as shorthand for “can i assume this doesn’t matter / it’s all a bad dream we’ll soon awaken from” copium. it’s here. you get to choose if you want to be curious and responsive or in denial.

its bittersweet to see ai eat programming, but one of my favorite things is now being able to "spend the time" to build out some process or tooling that previously was only available to really well-staffed/funded teams.

great thread. media literacy and attention economy points aside, we see the "AI studies show no ROI" thrown around a lot, and it's not based in reality. there are a lot of difficulties being worked through, (it's why we're building @corralai), but the paradigm has changed.

"95% of companies see zero ROI from AI" You've seen this stat everywhere. Fortune. The Economist. FT. Board meetings. VC decks. It's attributed to "MIT research" so it must be valid, right? I spent months trying to verify it. Here's what I found 🧵 https://t.co/37ViDlY4Ai

I don't know how to tell GenZ utterly immiserated by cost-of-living that everything is downstream of the choking-off of housing construction by their predecessors before and now. But permitting reform is not a realm addressed by youthful militancy. The incentives are all fucked.

Yea not sure what my expectations were but "actively bad" is spot on. And doesn't feel like there's a good movie somewhere on an editing room floor either.

Once VisualStudio for Mac killed all its IDE features, it was a matter of time before it was killed. No UI designers, no profiling, lack of tooling for the ecosystems it intended to support (Info.plist). It became just another editor. https://t.co/fgZa6pPukh

“Text is a projection of the world”, as @ilyasut said at GTC, but that’s the problem; text is only a projection, like a moving shadow on the ground is a projection of an airplane above. LLMs analyze shadows, and don’t understand the difference between those shadows and reality.

Now that I no longer work there, I will say that something I really disliked about Google (and this may just be a Big Tech thing and not unique to them) is how much of the job was self promoting and the theatrics of demonstrating impact.
