The day before I found out I had covid, I was tattooing a client who was immunocompromised (lupus). We both wore N95s and I have hepa filtration in my very small studio. My client did not get covid from me.
No one will ever gaslight me into thinking masks don't work. Because last year my mom brought Covid home and I didn't get it. I masked inside, even in my room with closed door + towel at the bottom. Disinfected everything + tested daily. + my mom didn't isolate or mask properly

My partner just tested positive for covid.
I don’t have symptoms and so far tested negative, but we were supposed to go camping for a couple days tomorrow. Not anymore.

So many tattooers struggling to find business right now and yet refuse to wear a mask and take precautions for clients that WOULD come in if they did.
Our little dojo doubled in size because of our COVID protocols. They attracted the kind of people we've always wanted: intelligent and humble enough to heed science, compassionate enough to take care of the community, and disciplined enough to mask while viral levels remain high.

Both my consultations yesterday were with (young!) immunocompromised people who were grateful for a tattoo studio with covid mitigations. Still blows my mind how many tattooers are struggling to get clients right now yet refuse to mask/use an air purifier for clients.
Had a new client send me a text after her appointment yesterday to thank me for wearing a mask. So sweet!
It’s important to me to protect others while also protecting myself too. And bottom line is I can’t afford to get sick these days.

We play games & rent movies. We have backyard dinners. We go to the beach. We wear respirators & go to museums. We hike. We listen to podcasts & organize. We do art projects. He taught me how to sculpt, & cast my sculptures in resin. We literally began dating in 2020- masked.
“But how do you go on dates if you never indoor dine?” We’re making spicy rigatoni, listening to Frank Sinatra, and are having a candlelight dinner at home. We can also go to nature parks, an art museum masked, or literally anything else we feel like doing.

We had windows open and multiple air purifiers running. We wore N95s. My partner ate meals outside and I ate in the back bedroom. We slept in different rooms. It sucks but it can work 🖤

As a chronically ill tattooer I actually have it in my submission form that I may need to reschedule last minute. I give people a $100 discount and reschedule them within a few weeks. But I ALWAYS feel like utter trash for doing it.
Pls know that if I ever have to reschedule your tattoo appointment, I feel sick and I’m probably crying whilst messaging you because I hate letting anyone down
