Looking like the best year for some time for Forester moth. Nine seen yesterday whilst on the BMS Transect. Everyone welcome at tonight's Moth Night. Meet at the car park at 6:30pm and see what was caught the previous night. Bring queries, specimens, and curiosity along.

Despite being a relatively common moth in the South East, this was our first Red-belted Clearwing since 1995.

Hop to it Caloptilia fidella, a species which is spreading across Kent. The leaf mines and cones can be found now on Hop. Look for the different shaped leaves where the larva has formed a cone which it secures with silk (indicated by the black arrows). https://t.co/LW9cJ9ki5R

Two migrant moths last night here in North Kent amongst several thousand Caddisflies. Never has anything like those numbers in the traps here. Anyway, Convolvulus Hawk Moth and P. vitrealis. @MigrantMothUK @mothsinkent
