As a grief expert and a bereaved person I don’t believe in closure. We don’t “close the door” on someone we love. The media asks people after tragedy: “Did you get closure?” That creates the illusion grief has an ending. It doesn’t. Peace is real. Closure is a myth. agree?

Grieving isn’t only about missing the person we’ve lost. It’s mourning the future we’d dreamed up together, the plans, & the life we saw ahead. It’s a sorrow for all the ‘what could have beens’ that were left behind. Is there a part of grief you think others don’t understand

You know what really sucks? Having crushing fatigue where all you want is sleep, but it’s accompanied by insufferable pain that won’t let you fall asleep.

Tomorrow is the 3rd anniversary of my daughter’s death. Tory was our ray of sunshine & truly one of the kindest souls. She was our smiley person who filled our life with colour & here I share some of her colour. Please light a candle or spare a thought for her. Please RT #grief

Long day in the hospital today. Surprisingly busy for Fall. Hard to imagine what winter will be like. Golden tip if you have a loved one in the hospital: Be the BEST advocate you can. Be there at the bedside as much as possible watching over things like a hawk, for however long
