Here’s a simple definition and formula for manifested luck. Definition: The surface area of your serendipity. Formula: (Focus) * (Intention) * (Effort) * (Skill) * (Relationships) What do each of these components mean?

I think there are 2 kinds of luck: 1. Pure Luck - This is the lottery. Your ticket is selected for no rhyme or reason. 2. Manifested Luck: This is formulaic. You individually can increase the probability of a positive outcome. Focus on manifested luck.

Extremely useful chart as covid runs rampant in the UK and we all plan for Christmas It shows how long after exposure to covid you will be detectable by a lateral flow test vs a PCR test if you do have it And at what stages you are likely infectious

🧵How I fell for a NFT scam and what I learned from it So it happened. I fell for an NFT scam. It wasn't for much money, but still stings. I feel like I should have been smart enough to avoid it. TL;DR - if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is 👇🏿

I’ve met so many people who’ve told me they want to do a startup but don’t feel ready. Well, you’ll never be ready - startups are crazy and wild, and nothing can prepare you for them. The right way to decide if you’re ready is to assess your risk-reward ratio, not readiness.

It didn’t take me long in the crypto world to realize that it’s an ecosystem being fueled by the “House Money Effect”. Having spent countless hours in the world of high stakes poker I recognized it instantly and now can’t stop seeing it everywhere I look. A short 🧵👇

Creators are key to Web3. Web1 was about making information searchable & exchangeable. Google was the big winner. Web2 was about platforms and gave us Facebook. But value flowed through platforms. Web3 is about ownership: creators and communities capturing value *themselves*

9/ Just as many funds dominant in the 90s are irrelevant today, crypto may cause another restacking. Crypto-native funds will need to adapt. General funds have faced paradigm shifts - internet, mobile, cloud, Tiger, now crypto.

"When Elon Musk tweets about something, the value of that asset goes up, how can that be an asset?" Well: - The price of an asset is decided by the intersection of demand and supply. - Elon has 65M followers on Twitter. - It increases demand and the price goes up. Duh?

One idea that really stuck with me from @a16z is to never disparage people sincerely trying to build something positive. It’s easy to shit on people, since everything has easy to spot trade offs, and nothing is perfectly executed. It’s harder to be constructive.
