The New York State Democratic Committee just unanimously made Gov. Cuomo state delegate chair at the DNC "since he has demonstrated such outstanding leadership" in recent months
There is a non-zero chance that the special master completely overhauls these maps again on Friday, rendering these 48 hours of bickering and exploratory campaigns completely moot.
Just encountered something resembling traffic for the first time since I moved out of downtown Albany in June, and initially assumed it was due to some backyard party.
Nope, it’s because the line to early vote at the fire station a mile away is over 100 people long.

Also of note: It looks like that 107-member Democratic majority in the Assembly will be comprised of 56 men and 51 women, which I'm pretty sure is the closest any legislative conference in NYS history has ever come to gender balance
An internal DCCC poll has Molinaro up 46-43 over Ryan as of a week ago.
No public polls, but previous internal polls include one that gave Molinaro with a 10 point lead (according to Molinaro supporters) and one that gave Molinaro a 3 point lead (according to Ryan's campaign).
The filing page for the redistricting case just took a half second longer to load than the previous 200 times I had refreshed it, and that fleeting anticipation that there might be something new is the most exciting development on the maps so far this hour

Hochul recently went 10 days without taking questions on budget negotiations. That was the second-longest silence on a late budget since at least 1929, according to a review of press clippings and past governors’ schedules
Hochul has signed the bill that says the Independent Redistricting Commission has to share its records with the Legislature if it never gets around to voting on a plan

Cuomo on the lawsuit over postmarks: "The date for the ballots to be eligible is in the law," says the governor, who has unilaterally suspended mountains of laws in recent months. "So that is going to have to be resolved either by a court or by the Legislature passing a new law."
After today's count, it's clear that I have been chosen to serve as our next Senator. It's an honor for me and my family, but it's a victory for working people in Central New York who will finally have a Senator who can bring our voice and our values to Albany. Thank you!

Hi, I'm going to be focused on New York's Senate and Assembly until about 1 a.m. If everybody on this website could not talk about the presidential race until then so I can avoid spoilers, I'd appreciate it.
