Hochul says she will convene leaders from both parties for a "candid conversation" about security and turning down the temperature.

"Today we face a very different threat --- the rise of political violence here at home." Hochul points to the Kirk's murder, Minnesota assassinations, the Trump assassination attempt, the Capitol riot and the arson at the Penn gov mansion. "We can't allow this to escalate."
