Most marketing distribution: “Here’s the highest-level summary of our thing, go check it out.” Better marketing distribution: “Here’s a specific insight from a thing we did. What do you think? Also there’s lots more where that came from.”

My dad had to have an emergency procedure yesterday. He was by himself in LA. He was scared and none of us knew what the right call was (do the procedure or wait and explore less invasive solutions?). Then, the doctor got on a zoom call with our entire family (me in SF, mom in

Private health insurance on average pays hospitals 2.5 times what Medicare does for the same services, with some states seeing relative prices of more than 3 times greater, according to a new report.

The amount of variation suggests employers have an opportunity to negotiate better deals with hospitals, researchers said.

I used Summer Health this morning for my kids’ pink eye and I reached a pediatric nurse in 2 minutes via SMS. I’ve heard a lot of physicians say that in-person is ideal because the importance of the physical exam, the subtleties etc. My take: We too often rank virtual care

@taskrabbit_help @Taskrabbit I’ve been a promoter of the @Taskrabbit platform to friends and family over the years, as I appreciated there to be reviews for services where there hasn’t previously — but the fact that bad behavior can go on without impact to a taskers reviews undermines trust in your platform

@taskrabbit_help What’s most frustrating is that the @Taskrabbit platform does not allow me to leave a review. So this tasker is going to continue to viewed as someone with “5 stars”. This certainly makes me wonder about all the other well rated taskers on the platform

@taskrabbit_help I showed up, with my toddler, but the tasker did not show up and then cancelled 5 minutes after the job was supposed to start. This cost me, the person I was picking up the cabinet from, and the refinisher time and money

@taskrabbit_help I had a tasker confirm that he was on his way 10min before a job was supposed to start (to help me move a cabinet from someone else’s house to a furniture refinisher).

Uff. This is a gut punch. “To be honest, we barely had to adjust our hospital schedule [because gun violence is so common]. Politicians need to Do Something, because doing nothing hasn’t worked.” — Dr. Jason Smith, Chief Medical Officer at U of Louisville

Not to mention the fact that very few of these teams are at the stage to have a true CFO/VP Finance
For all the “advice” about diversifying deposits, please think it through. A $10M Series A would require FORTY different banks to get full FDIC coverage. And sure say MM or Treasury. But teams of 15 don’t have bandwidth to manage complex financial products. That is not the job.

The best performers are not consistently great but they're great at being consistent. They show up day in, day out and put in the work. They make progress by applying the right amount of stress followed by the right amount of rest. They repeat this pattern over and over again.

⚕️New #healthpolicy analysis from @BudgetHawks⚕️ Adopting "Site Neutral" payments in the private sector would lower health spending by $𝟰𝟱𝟬 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 - over $600 billion if we adopt in Medicare too. We pay so much more for hospitals! Read here: https://t.co/Oy30u0sFXD

1. There is no shame in hiring help. Taking care of home / kids (and doing it well) is a FT job. 2. The way the article positions it, it’s the wife’s dirty little secret. When it is a family decision to hire help.

In a controlled experiment, this paper finds that recognition of a few top performers at a job increases the performance of the entire team Not because the recognized workers do more, but because the other workers adopt the higher standard & conform to it https://t.co/jG5z8uGn5L
