My response when anyone assumes my criticism of their team means I'm on their opponent's team.

I've taken a sort of streaming sabbatical but may post a video from time to time. I'm cynical but if it's good then perhaps a debate review.
Tonight at 8pm ET: @ComicDaveSmith vs @liquid2ulu. The resolution: public property & the NAP The metadebate: what being a libertarian really means, & how to apply & pursue our ideas in the real world Link π

Warmongers on π are saying this was a recent Venezuelan drug boat. Guess @Pro__Trading 'forgot' to verify the photo. Seems like an important piece of the argument when defending govt killing people. Oh, and still no Congressional approval.

My video rebutting people when they said Haitians have a low average IQ is just as relevant here. Link in next post.
The average IQ in Somalia is 68, which is below the line for mental retardation. 7 out of 10 Somalians live in poverty. Their per capita GDP is 1,000 dollars (USA is 90,000). Somalia does not have a functional waste management system. The tallest fully constructed building in the

"The Constitution says some things and doesnβt say others." - Justice Antonin Scalia Doni nails it. The Commerce Clause is abused, heavily.
I really want you guys to think about this, please: If Congress truly had the power to prohibit anything under the Commerce Clause, the federal government would not have needed the 18th constitutional amendment in 1919 to ban alcohol. That amendment happened because Congress

Someday, hopefully, libertarians will come to understand that libertarianism is currently more unpopular because of libertarians than the ideas itself. https://t.co/BSMy9eqpTZ
Libertarianism is a highly unpopular ideology because what we want runs counter to the instincts of the majority of the population. Catering to those instincts and concealing our true nature makes everything worse. The purity tests are critical.

Part I of why I am a minarchist. https://t.co/McQt5xLXD5
@BiblicalAnarchy @MonarchoHoppean @justinamash @LPNational Since I'm a minarchist, it seems relevant if I chime in on what I do and don't believe. I'll keep it short: First, I start with self-ownership which leads to the NAP and Freedom of Association. I tell people libertarianism can address most any situation people face today using

Part II of why I am a minarchist (next post for Part I). The difference between me and many others who accept the below is that I don't believe it is necessary for others to be libertarian just willing to accept as many ideas as I can convince them of.
@Arizona_LP So libertarianism is a set of beliefs that only a small minority of the world population will ever hold? Interesting, I wonder what other implications that might have

The US Constitution is the greatest governing document ever implemented and used at scale. However, it requires constant & rigorous defense by those being governed. Whenever a branch of govt proposes anything, citizens should check it like it was an "About this account" page.

The "Laws of War" do not supersede the Constitution and therefore do not exempt the requirement of the President from obtaining Congressional approval. And speaking of Laws of War,
@SaraHigdon Congress doesn't have to declare war for the Laws of War to apply A Non-International Armed Conflict is btwn a state and a non-state actor in this case designated terrorists who are unprivileged belligerents There is no "One strike only" rule for killing them

DHH is spot on here about remote work. And I think it translates into how we communicate online in general.
Charging our trust batteries by spending time together at regular all-company meetups is what allows remote work to work at 37signals. They allow for our written communication to be read with good intentions without copious amounts of flowery flattery.

Wildly unconstitutional, bordering on treason. There isn't one single founder who took this approach to war powers - not one. Not even Alexander Hamilton. Presidents Washington, Adams, Jefferson and Madison - all knew they needed to wait for approval from congress before doing

Not a single anarchist responding to me has managed to steel man me as a minarchist, much less just be accurate about it. The closest was calling me a Hobbesian but even that had a major defect. Kids, the Socratic method exists for a reason.
Minarchists be like ''I think rape is bad but like, im for the instuition of rape so long as its minimal and the rapist has like, duties to be nice to his victim or whatever, what are we ever gonna do without rape? You guys are utopian'' Then they wonder why we dont like em.

This has happened to me more often than someone presenting a study that supports their position. It's a disheartening reality of vast information access.
One of my greatest joys is when someone posts a study online they rushed to find in an attempt to counter me. They don't read the study, simply rely on its title as their evidence that I'm wrong and dumb. And the study actually proves my point. π
