in this specific case. (A medically relevant specialist, too.). What then is the point of a peer to peer? Historically, my discussions have been very collegial and fair- but seems some doctors are simply a paid mouthpiece for insurance cos. @SIRspecialists @OEISociety.

Just had a peer to peer where the justification for denial started with “According to this patient’s health plan, the appropriate treatment is…”. The doctor simply parroted the health plans determination of coverage- there was no actual discussion of what SHOULD be done-.
