Did some testing of public all-in-one metrics by replicating past work of @Neil_Paine, @ElGee35 and @taylor_snarr but made some slight alterations. The method: merge the all-in-one metric with minutes in year Y+1, sum it up for the team and check the correlation with team win%.

Worth mentioning it's early and this is only just the box score version. box DLEBRON is going to be influenced by how good your team defense is

Got this expected EPA per dropback to a better place and got some QB takes to get off 1. Caleb Williams probably isn't the next Josh Allen, but what if... 2. Is Mac Jones the next career revival ala Darnold/Baker/Danny Dimes?? 3. Drake Maye is awesome
Was playing around with a Bayesian EPA/dropback for QBs in an effort to get a better signal on what's sustainable - first pass looks to pass the smell test

After Cade Cunningham's 31-miss night on Monday, some people asked what other Pistons should be shooting with so many injuries. Last night provided some answer: Duncan Robinson and Paul Reed. Both ramped up usage with good efficiency. https://t.co/RMLH04gvkb

The Knicks don't cross halfcourt with 21 seconds on the shot clock on average, but then again, neither do most teams
.@alanhahn: "You're not ranked high in pace and yetā¦it does look to the eye you play fast. So how do you notice when you play fast?" Rick Brunson: "Our goal's to get the ball over halfcourt at 21 seconds. Then we play from there. We take what the defense gives usā¦(continued)"

I wrote about Mavs moving on from Nico on substack, so no Lakers-OKC preview there. But I'll do a quick throwback thread hereš§µ LeBron & Gabe still out for the Lakers OKC on 2nd night of B2B lists Dort, Jalen Williams, Wiggins, Kenrich Williams as OUT OKC rotationš

This was done more than a month ago to look at what Celtics could ramp up usage this year. - Brown has done better than expected at his actual 34% usage - White has declined with his increase, as expected - Simons/Pritchard are reasonably predicted. Still noisy, though.
Can the Celtics make up for the loss of Tatum, Porzingis, etc.? On the offensive side, "skill curves" from Basketball on Paper look at whether Brown, Pritchard, others can ramp up their offense. Brown can ramp up a little. White can't. Pritchard can, but his luck likely runs out

The percentage of layups assisted on in the NBA has gone from about 66% to almost 73% in the last ten years. The drives to the rim are better taken away but good ball movement as a result of increased spacing has made up for it.

Brunson has now taken 187 FGA this season. He currently has: - The highest avg. shot quality in his Knicks career - The fewest % of FGA heavily contested in his Knicks career - The fewest % of his FGA self-created in his Knicks career
Last season, no one had the ball in their hands more often than Brunson. Mike Brown made it known that he wanted to get Brunson easier looks this season. While the shot wasn't always there tonight, there was a clear effort to get Brunson off the ball more/get him easier looks.

Since The Trade, - Anthony Davis has been worth 0.6 wins above replacement (WAR) - Luka Doncic has been worth 7.2. And that's ignoring the playoffs as well as the projected future. https://t.co/LRwe884neD

I think Cade a good player but if heās consistently ranked as a t12 player why not hold him to those standards? I was fighting for Cade when he was in JG and Barnes debates but the pendulum swung too far you canāt even comment on the most inefficient game ever lmao

Jokic is on pace to decimate the Rim Assists per 100 possessions record. As a center. Usually, centers are the biggest recipients of rim assists (assisted layups/dunks), not the givers. He's averaging 10.3 Rim Assists/100. Steve Nash set the record in 2007 with 8.5.
