Chicago is home to the largest population of Serbians outside of Serbia. Jokic plays there once a year. What a shame for him to get ejected for THAT ⬇️⬇️
James Worthy on greatness of Jokic:
“To me Jokic is Magic Johnson & Kareem on the floor at the same time.”
He’s been ILLmatic since 2020-21 yet goobers like
@GilsArenaShow
@getnickwright
spew nonsense like “He’s worst MVP of last 40yrs” among many other embarrassing Joker takes.
Seeing crowds like this Pels crowd only shows how much the NBA and their media partners have failed their product.
So many great stories to tell in this league. And so many fans eager for those stories to be shared and celebrated.
I am being completely serious when I say that Jokic is one of the best conditioned and toughest athletes in the NBA. He's barely missed a game in 3 super condensed seasons. Still willing his team to grind it out wins against all odds. No days off.
No center is in Jokic’s league. He has 1st team locked up the first week of February. Just carried a 7-man roster to a road win over Gobert and the Jazz. 5th game in 7 nights. 30 points, 21 rebounds, 10 assists. 14/24 shooting. Dominant.
One last one. No chance that Jokic "saw" Barton was open. He never looks. Just knows how the court will shift as he dribbles over to the opposite elbow.
Dejan was very important person in the development of Nikola Jokic. As a player, Dejan was an unconventional star. The Serbian Charles Barkley.
Perhaps that’s why he was the first to truly see greatness in Jokic. He helped mold him into the mvp of the Adriatic league in 2015.
Nuggets fans watching teams triple down on superteams with overlapping skill sets despite watching the Nuggets’ perfect two-way chemistry carry them through a 16-4 playoff run.
Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray in their 3 playoff appearances:
2019: Game 7 of the conference semi-finals
2020: Conference Finals
2022: Conference Finals (and counting)
"The most impressive performance I'd ever seen on an NBA court. Period."

on Jokic's 46-point triple double this season against the Pelicans. (Video is my edit)

The Denver Nuggets just did two things they've never done In their NBA history:
Sweep a team In a playoff series
and beat the LA Lakers in a playoff series
In case you hadn't heard, we went to Serbia last Summer to learn more about Nikola Jokic.
We ended up discovering an untold history of basketball In one of the most Important basketball nations on Earth.
Highest FG% over a four-game span in the shot clock era (since 1954-55) with a minimum of 40 attempts:
91.8% (45-49) - Wilt Chamberlain (2/17-28, 1967)
91.5% (43-47) - Wilt Chamberlain (11/29-12/3, 1966)
88.6% (39-44) - Nikola Jokic (12/28/2023-1/4/2024)

Jokic leads the Nuggets in ppg, apg, rpg, spg, bpg, 3PM, 3P%, FGM, FG%, FTM, FT%...the only player in HISTORY to lead his team in every single category!
And of course leads the whole NBA in ALL advanced stats. His Current PER of 34.7 would smash the All Time record. 🔥🔥
I will never understand people who enjoy or are impressed with these types of plays. There are already so many advantages built in for on-ball guards. Allowing what is obviously a fake shot attempt to draw a foul because a defenders arms are legally extended is crazy to me.
Chris Paul teaching Coby White mid-game after he baits him into a foul, watch CP3 after he goes to the line.
(for those who dont know: Coby and CP3 are super close, going all the way back to when White played on Paul’s AAU team…amongst other things )
Pop on Jokic.
"He's a really spectacular, interesting, different player. He's like a 7-foot Larry Bird type guy. The way he can pass. The way he reads things. He's incredible."
This is what I was talking about. I knew the ball came out of Jokic's hands before he threw it to Harris in the corner. Also one of the best example of
#waterpoloJokic
I've ever seen.
You cannot convince me that a healthy Raptors team loses this series. They are an OT buzzer beater away from being up 3-2 even with all of the injuries/absences.
Jamal Murray got hurt on January 15th, leaving the Nuggets down 3 starters for the next 2.5 weeks. Since then, Jokic has played more minutes than anyone else in the NBA.
Jerami Grant, Aaron Gordon, and now Bruce Brown all broke out in DEN as extremely high value role players.
It’s a credit to each of the players first and foremost. But I also don’t think it’s a coincidence that good role players shine bright in DEN given their style of play.
Monte Morris was a fantastic Nugget. 51st pick. Spent his first year in the G-league grinding. Made an immediate impact the following season.
"Mr. Nugget" from 2020-2022. Great teammate, as reliable a backup pg as they come, and seemed to love the city. Fan favorite.
Nuggets in January
16 games
10 road games
9 opponents with winning records
4 sets of back to backs
Millsap missed 13 games
Murray missed 9
Harris missed 7
Plumlee missed 6
MPJ missed 1.5
They go 11-5.
Unbelievable!
The Denver Nuggets joined the NBA in 1976.
Tonight they can do something that they’ve NEVER done in their 46-year NBA history: earn the 1-seed in the Western Conference.
I referenced this interview on the
@DNVR_Nuggets
podcast today.
Jokic surprised Obradovic (Phil Jackson of Euroleague) when he told him that he watched his seminar.
He also pointed out a detail in one of Obradovic’s games and suggested an adjustment that Obradović has since…

I agree about being angry. No need for it, it's sports. But calling out people like you who spent years being hilariously wrong about the Nuggets, Jokic, &
#TeflonMike
is part of the fun for the people who were on the right side all along.
Bones made the rising stars game both years and got traded for 2 (late) second round picks.
Clearly the Nuggets viewed the situation as addition by subtraction. Hope they're right. But either way, feels like the worst possible outcome for a player that showed such promise.
