Thoughtful perspective from @AnupamBJena re @DrJBhattacharya, NIH Director nominee. I learned health econ from Jay. He is bright. While my experience as an ER doc contrasted with some of his Covid views, there deserves to be discourse. I wish him well.

Grateful for this honor, my mentors, my collaborators, mentees, and the great teams I get to work with at Penn and beyond 🙏.
Congrats to LDI Fellow @kit_delgadoMD on his election to the American Society for Clinical Investigation (@the_asci)! 🎉. One of the few emergency physicians inducted, his work transforms opioid overdose prevention, injury reduction, and acute care.

@PHLPublicHealth Bottom line - it's as important as ever as to increase treatment access and care for patients with OUD to prevent these severe case presentations and preventable morbidity and mortality. And in hospital formulary changes around dexmedetomidine and ketamine will be needed
