He doesn't even consider the reciprocal logic: if China doesn't want war with the US it must therefore deter it. What's his suggestion then? Accelerating militarization of SCS? Build up standoff weapons? Accelerate the growth of the navy? Coerce more pacific nations?

She's probably way off, but clearly they are paid well enough to deal with the daily scoldings... it's not about courage though, Chinese people, especially in "rich" cities regularly argue loudly with police officers. This isn't the US.

The vaccines comment is pretty stupid, even if all the Chinese were vaccinated today it wouldn't help given the situation abroad and the newer variants, exporting to countries that actually need them is a better plan but since that isn't what the west is doing you can't see that.
