The past two decades have seen China build its deep-sea fishing fleet into the thousands, resulting in China depleting its own stock of fish in oceans closest to them. In turn, their fishermen have sailed to other oceans across the world to continue deep-sea fishing.

@LeoDiCaprio As a person living in China I can seriously prove you that most fish the Chinese eat are from aquaculture. Deep sea fish like tuna is extremely rare here. NYT is well-known for anti China propaganda with desinformation for a very long time.
