Husband to @mmkirby1983, dad, and Antimonopoly Director for @mnfarmersunion. Idiot Populist Heckler. #BreakEmUp šā¾ļø
White Bear Township, MN
Joined January 2016
Over the holiday my working class brother complained about a job offer that came with a 5-year noncompete, my wife's conservative nephew railed against Koch's fertilizer acquisitions, and my mother-in-law lamented the negative impacts of the dollar store in their small town.
Is there any indication that antitrust is a successful populist issue? Do regular folks care about antitrust?.

If Minnesotans cannot get rid of the Pohlads, might as well join them in the owners box. Had fun channeling my inner @tipping_pitches for this @StarTribune piece, which includes some fascinating Twins and MN co-op history to boot.

Minnesota baseball fans have been living a nightmare, Erik Hatlestad writes. But a co-op model ā instead of ownership by the Pohlads ā might be a solution.

"But paying for it is the biggest challenge, requiring about $16 million in state, city, and team funding.". Oh really? The Saints (like 1/3 of minor leagues) are owned by one of the largest PE firm on the planet. Silver Lake suddenly strapped for cash? .

Team officials say the Ferris wheel would be just beyond left field, and it would be available on more than just game days for the Saints.

Another thing this kind of article does is perpetuate the argument that Dems fundamental political problem is $. Harris raised A BILLION $ in 3 months and lost!!! You suck up to execs for their cash not bc they are popular, but in this case money is not the problem.
One of the more disgusting articles I've read recently was this WSJ piece by @AmrithRamkumar and @elizacollins1, who covered Adam Kovacevich as a heroic figure soliciting donations for Dems, ignoring he was in a WSJ front page corruption scandal just a few months ago.
