1. My newsletter BIG on monopoly power just went paid. You should subscribe. I'm surprised by the outpouring of support, but I shouldn't be. People hate monopolies because we hate being dependent on another's will. It's the humiliation. It's this image. https://t.co/XZ3U4kLUgq

Both Trump and the left have a strong incentive to lie that China sold TikTok to American conservatives, even though that hasn't happened.

"To the end consumer, it creates an optical illusion. Walmart appears to be a low-cost retailer, but that’s because it induces its suppliers to push prices up at rivals." Exactly right.

Now we've finally learned the real story behind Pepsi's greedflation episode during Covid - it was a market power problem, a scheme with Walmart to inflate prices and consolidate the grocery market. And Trump's FTC Chair tried to hide it.

This shady deal was BLOCKED. A private equity company tried to abuse the bankruptcy system to slither out of paying what they owe to seniors neglected in its nursing homes. We stayed in the fight and the deal was blocked. Next, we need PE out of health care altogether.

When there's a disagreement, I try to figure out who is right on the merits. A lot of people really want to find some form of consensus. It's weird.

“You don’t pay $235 million for the right to produce a sequel to a movie that cost $40 million because you think it’s going to generate 8 million new subscribers. You do it to chop a leg out of the theatrical ecosystem.”

I am not the biggest fan of the KNIVES OUT series but I found the new one, WAKE UP DEAD MAN, oddly moving as it's the first in the series to treat its villains with a shred of empathy. It's also Rian Johnson's most interesting movie, visually, since BRICK.

Our party, the Democratic Party, has the legacies of the labor movement, the civil rights movement, and the suffragette movement. We need to tap into these legacies and take our party into the future.

I’ve disliked Noam Chomsky ever since he falsely alleged Aaron Swartz illegally hacked academic systems. Chomsky is just your standard operating corrupt elite. Unsurprising he’s an unapologetic friend of Epstein.

Big Tech duping pro-Palestine activists to do their bidding on Section 230 is truly sickening. In case some people haven’t noticed, Big Tech can ALREADY silence whatever voices they want — and they have, in fact, ALREADY suppressed pro-Palestine and anti-Israel messages on

If Congress successfully repeals Section 230, say goodbye to the internet, esp. social media, as we know it. If platforms can be held liable for what’s posted on them, they won’t simply allow anyone to post anything at anytime. That this is happening at a time when prominent

People act like Trump got China to sell TikTok but there’s no evidence that he actually did. Now he’s delaying the law AGAIN. My guess is that TikTok isn’t going to be sold to American investors and Trump will be too embarrassed to admit it.
