Fun fact: Did you know that fully qualified F1 doctors in Plymouth hospitals (after completing a solid 5–6 years at medical school) are forced to: work as receptionists in the Obs and Gynae department and call patients to inform them that they have been booked for a Caesarean

Delighted to read this press release from @OctopusEnergy that it will be passing on the full Budget energy cuts to all customers including those on fixes, by an (all other things remaining equal) price reduction for all on 1 April. This is exactly what I've been calling for,

I got paid £14/hr to work Christmas day as a doctor in 2022
Still can’t get over how post covid a doctors starting salary was £14/hr (printed onto payslips - shameless) and only when we went on multiple strikes then pay increased to £17/18 /hr Doctors.. saving or improving the quality of your lives.. shameful.

qualified doctors need actual, remunerated jobs not unfunded job vacancies. Stop spinning the dispute as about resident doctors‘ woeful pay @wesstreeting @BMAResidents @Number10cat @labourpress
I'm sorry @wesstreeting, but we will continue to fight for our members to make sure they have jobs and their pay is restored. Patients need doctors and doctors need jobs.

The Brexit vote was absolutely 𝐧𝐨𝐭 "fair and democratic"👇 It excluded many of the 1.2 million UK citizens most affected by losing rights - us living in the EU - who can vote again now, but 𝐧𝐨𝐭 for Brexit - why ? Our vote would definitely have swung it the other way
"The idea that leaving the EU was the answer to all our cares and concerns has clearly been proved wrong." Sir Keir Starmer says that "wild promises were made" about Brexit. He adds: "The same argument is now being made about the European Convention on Human Rights"

Funny how those people who still think Brexit was a good idea have taken to blaming its failures on “Europhile politicians” who implemented it, overlooking the fact that the final Brexit deal was negotiated and signed by Boris Johnson, one of the leading campaigners for Brexit!
@SkyNews Brexit has not been proven wrong. We were betrayed by tantrum-throwing, anti-democratic EUrophile politicians who deliberately squandered the opportunity it presented. This is just more relentless lies from a man whose word is absolutely worthless.

The same politicians that misled the public and championed Brexit are now calling on the UK to withdraw from the ECHR. They cannot be trusted.

When Poland started closing its coalmines it provided long-term support and retraining for miners, unlike in the UK where Thatcher threw them on the scrapheap. And Poland receives EU funds for local area regeneration. In short, Thatcher, and Brexit.

£100 billion of trade a year and over a million jobs since Brexit have been lost. We agree with Sir John Major, Brexit is a flop, but now, we must fix it.

🇪🇺 This week, the European Parliament voted to weaken two flagship sustainability directives — the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, scaling back firms’ obligations on climate plans, liability, and reporting.

I just spent £61 in @NewLook and was told I had to give my email address to get a receipt. That is completely false and totally unlawful. A receipt is a legal requirement when a customer asks for one and it cannot be made conditional on handing over personal data. UK GDPR is

Today resident doctors begin 5 days of strike action & patients are standing with them, because: 🔵£22.50/hr for one of the hardest jobs is fair 🔵shutting out 20K doctors while the #NHS has 100K vacancies is dangerous 🔵staff are striking to protect patients, not harm them

Dear @wesstreeting, without an offer that addresses both pay and jobs for Resident Doctors, we’ve been left with no choice but to strike. Their pay is down by more than a fifth, no doctor is worth less than they were in 2008. Striking is our last resort.
The BMA have to take responsibility for the pain they are causing patients. I’ve given them a 28.9% pay rise, and offered more jobs, career progression, and help with expenses. Have the courage to put the offer to your members, @BMAResidents.

‘GPs have been neglected for too long. They are under-resourced, struggling to cope, and patients pay the price’ So Wes has decided not to listen or talk because he doesn’t like what he hears or the solutions that are needed Patients will pay the price for @wesstreeting failure
I met the leader of the BMA’s GP committee today, to listen to their concerns. GPs have been neglected for too long. They are under-resourced, struggling to cope, and patients pay the price. I am committed to fixing the front door to our NHS. https://t.co/ZbnNkPO5Eq
