They have managed to fully cover the elective hospital I work at with locums over the strike days and so are maintaining full elective activity. I do wonder how comfortable a GP trainee is going to be with arterial lines and metaraminol though (they advertise the duties as T+O..

I've reapplied for anaesthetics for the 3rd time but idk if I really even have the effort. Top 8% MSRA score last year and still no interview. 2 points off.

Trust has sent this out today, saying non-BMA members cannot strike. Got some worried colleagues. I know previously non-BMA doctors were allowed to strike. Is that no longer the case, or is this communication wrong and misleading? @TheBMA @BMAResidents

This is so depressing
Specialty training competition ratios for 2025 released. An awful day to be a doctor out of training or a medical student. Frozen progression is a further nail in the coffin of a career in medicine in the UK. https://t.co/gJAwr98zeQ

Actually tbh I probably don't quite count as working class, but I do tick many WP criteria

As a working class kid who became a doctor, my biggest concern is that I can't get a training number or job
It’s not talent that is unevenly distributed in our society, it is opportunity. I’m determined to smash through the class ceiling in medicine, to make sure that working class kids from backgrounds like mine and @bphillipsonMP can achieve their dreams 👇🏻 https://t.co/QhS9y1zPhW

There's nothing in my contract about deadline for receiving rota. Is the 6 week deadline an England-wide thing, or just for training programmes?

I also appreciate most jobs would have been advertised and appointed by now, but pretty grim if you have been unsuccessful so far

There was 1 surgical one which I mightve been eligible for (I didn't look at the full requirements)

Fortunately my job is a 2 year contract, but I just did a quick search out of curiosity. Couldn't find a single medical job in the entire South West that I was eligible for

Multiple ops cancelled this week and next week at work due to lack of anaesthetists and yet I can't even get an anaesthetics interview despite a great MSRA score. Make it make sense
