It was brilliant to be at the @BFI today for the screening of the timekeeper film and panel discussion about child victims of domestic abuse. And lovely to catch up with some old friends and colleagues!

The number of young people undergoing treatment or waiting to start care in CAMHS reached 466,250 in May. The highest number on record. These young people could fill Wembley Stadium, five times over. @RishiSunak, this is an emergency.

The more I work with experts by experience, the more I find how icky many of them feel about charity staff calling themselves ‘expert storytellers’. 1/4

So proud of my inspirational friend @crecente - he has endured (and continues to) so much and yet puts all his energy into preventing violence in teen relationships with his innovative game design challenges.
Thank you to @bgrumet for her article about Jen's murder, our work through @stopTDV to prevent future violence, and our ongoing pursuit of justice. https://t.co/YhgCm3ooZp

There is no formula for writing/recording/communicating info about young people in a trauma-informed way but @InnovateProj research helped us identify some helpful things to consider. Check out this amazing graphic @MichiMathias created to help us share our learning 👇

Anyone who has a secret phone that they may hide from an abusive partner needs to read this + take action to switch it off or put in on airplane mode. #DomesticAbuse survivors please note. Please read this + share as widely as you can. Thanks @RefugeCharity Read more ⬇️
A new Emergency Alert system is being rolled out by the government this year that will notify all phones with a sounds - including when they are on silent. Having a secret phone can be a lifeline for survivors so we've created a guide on managing alerts:

Brilliant presentation from @sarahdangar on her research with Warwick Uni and AAFDA into DHRs in cases of domestic abuse suicide. “Victims are navigating complex needs in plain sight of agencies”. Crucial reading. #AAFDACONF23

As expected the @AAFDA6 conference is hugely powerful and inspirational but already highlighting the inexcusable failings that victims and their families face. The support that AAFDA provides is invaluable. #DomesticAbuse #domestichomicide

I was having lunch with my 2 year old today when a random woman sat down next to us, said she was cute and touched her face then took a photo of her! I was so shocked, took a moment to register what she was doing. I made her delete it but still worrying. What would you do?
