It's my #Twitterversary! I have been on Twitter for 16 years, since 4 May 2007 (via @twi_age).

The early crypto skeptics deserve more credit. Not only did they call all of this, they did so in the face of constant shaming and harrassment. (Not to mention everyone pointing to the increasing value of their crypto wallets as evidence that they were wrong.)

People are starting to say Elon Musk isn't actually a real engineer. But he definitely said "I don't know why people think Twitter is so complicated. I could fix it in like a weekend." And then proceeded to fuck everything up. That's exactly like an engineer.

The schadenfreude of watching Twitter's Permanent Main Character face the consequences and the harm of disinformation would be more satisfying if it didn't mean also watching him burn down communities I love at the same time.

What does it look like at Twitter right now? Well the employees who were laid off last week are consoling the ones who are still there

Once more. Musk is doing us an incredible favor by demonstrating beyond a shadow of a doubt that there is no meritocracy and that wealth and power do not, in any way, denote talent or competence.

Not many people could drive a multibillion dollar company to the brink of bankruptcy this quickly but I guess Elon is just built different
