And I'm obviously ok with her changing lyrics because as far as I'm concerned the 10 minute version is now the only version of All Too Well.

Not because the men don't have anything to apologize for, they just don't. And I think that's a good example of women leading and creating differently, for the better.

Maybe the BTR lyric was iconic, but for all of the wrong reasons. There have been more artists changing lyrics when it rises to high enough problems. Correct me if I'm wrong, this could be my bubble talking, but I think all of the high profile changes have been women artists.

(I see the same thing happen in tech ALL OF THE TIME. New grad engineers come in, turn their nose at women in tech groups because they learned in undergrad you survive by fitting in with the dudes. Roughly 2 years later they manage to shake it off.).

I know some people are torn over the Better Than Revenge lyric, but man, I think it's a great example of how we raise women to be against each other, seek men's approval, and be ashamed of sex, and then over time they figure out just how unnecessary that is.

You can hear the change in the maturity of her voice, too, which I think has been a cool comparison on all of the re-records.
