@BillOReilly
Bollix - there was no “legal” immigration in 1845.
But I’m sure your ancestors would be proud you had to pay out $30m in sexual harassment claims.
America is not sending us their best people.
Is there anything to be said for NOT building 3rd terminal at Dublin Airport & putting more flights through Cork, Shannon & Ireland West?
Y'kno - for the 3m who DON'T live in the Greater Dublin Area ?
Quite possibly the most concerning 10 seconds you will see from
#Coolock
tonight. An unknown adult inciting kids to chant 'Get them out'. This is deeply disturbing.
A shame they have to turn off replies - but the alternative is having to deal with bots, anon cretins and the odd actual Irish weirdo who couldn't run a bath.
Rest of Ireland: "They'll be even more insufferable and just make the whole thing about Cork..."
Cork: "How dare you!"
Also Cork: .....

Imagine this current Irish gov handling something really big like a poll on a United Ireland - we'd end up being ruled by Iceland for some reason
#Referendum2024
It's mind-boggling how many Irish people will tell you 'the Irish emigrated but we never asked for anything' when you remember what the 80s were like in London - but for those who care about the facts....
I've seen Irish ppl on here excusing screaming at women and children in
#Roscrea
with variations on "Well, the Gov wasn't listening to ppl"
Shame on them, shame on the Cllrs & TDs giving the racists & loons cover and feck off anonymous reply guys.
At the risk of being 'woke' and having spanners shout virtue signalling or whevtf - these women are worth a thousand of those uselss faketriots who mobbed our Dail this week.
Tonight was Culture Night in the city, a celebration of the different cultures and nationalities present in Ireland. Indeed it’s a beautiful event, held once a year, that helps create a sense of community and belonging through activities and programs. They approached us and asked…
Was it a uniquely Irish thing where a friend or cousin in the US/Australia would get in touch to say they had friends visiting Ireland and you basically had to act as their chauffer/tour guide/entertainment for 3 nights for some reason?
Irish Social Media has a weird breed of angry men who have to reply with a reference to Ukranians on every single post: "New cafe in Dingle" - "OOOH I ASSUME THEY'LL BE RESERVED FOR THE UKRANIANS!?" or '€100m for road repairs in West Cork' - 'for UKRNIAN CARS ONLY?!' - feck off
Just a note on the Ireland is Full bollix - we're actually empty - famine, forced migration/refugees/mass emigration = only developed country in the world with a pop significantly less now (5m) than in 1840 (8m)

Lads! if anybody has a cousin who left Ireland for Queens, who's in sales, went to college and reads the Daily Mail - he's the foreperson in the
#TrumpTrial
in NY!
De Valera apparently used to lecture visiting British officials on Irish history.
One UK pol, at end of meeting, was asked how the talks are progressing; "Very well, we're up to 1798"
U can kinda see where Dev was coming from.
This is thugs using any excuse to just rampage- there has to be consequences for this - not the usual 107 precious convictions/3 weeks inside
#DublinRiots
Worth saying again - the Spanners waving tricolours and nooses outside the Dail today would have been the EXACT same crowd quietly pointing out houses to the Tans in 1920. You know the type.
There's 7m bananas arriving in my home town tomorrow. They come every week. If it wasn't for Cork - none of ye would have any bananas. Just remember that the next time ...
Ha! He's doing that thing Irish ppl do: "ooh! Can I hear some sexy gaelic!?"
"Er, sure... erm... Ár n-Athair atá ar neamh, Go naofar d'ainim, Go dtagfadh do ríocht..."
I'm a patient man. But the next person to "tsk" loudly - or tell me off - for taking a walk with my daughter 500mts from the house where she's been confined for 2 weeks is going to have more immediate concerns than the coronavirus.
The United States stands without apology for a strong, prosperous, and free United Kingdom and we fully support their decision to leave the European Union. Thank you Prime Minister
@BorisJohnson
for a great visit! 🇺🇸🇬🇧
There's quite a sizable minority of weirdos in this country just making stuff up in their heads to be afraid/angry/weird about... talk about empty, pointless lives ...
Worth pointing out, once again, that these lads are the EXACT types to have been the landlord's agent and/or quietly pointing out houses to the Auxies in 1920...
Was thinking abt that 117-yr-old French nun who beat covid and thought: "Would you *really* want to live to that age? - then I read abt her celebration lunch ...
It’s a bit sad that the Dublin Fire Brigade are just standing around a fair bit - shouldn’t we all be constantly setting fire to stuff, to give them something to do ?
@rtenews
I think it's a bit sad that the Irish Defence Forces never actually do any fighting. Am all in favour of peace-keeping, but shouldn't a soldier sometimes take up arms? Especially since Irishmen have always had such a reputation for being brave in combat.
Guy in court in Cork yesterday for what was basically a cross country crime spree - thrashing cars, burglary, putting Gardai in severe danger and causing 20 homes to be evacuated.
Mid 20s. 225 previous convictions. What exactly is our justice system doing here?
Brexiteers invoking the “Dunkirk Spirit”.
If they actually had been in charge in 1940, they would have spent 2 years arguing abt how to get the guys off the beach - before advising them to swim home.
Last week - the only way I could get my 3 year old interested in the Ireland game was to tell her that New Zealand were "the baddies".
Now they are playing England.
Parenting is hard.
Don't know if it's six months of Covid monotony, no holiday or just the constant background hum of stress and anxiety - but I've never been so constantly and utterly exhausted in my life

#BedBy8
TIL Elton John used to tease John Lennon about his hippy values Vs his lavish lifestyle and once sent a postcard to John and Yoko with new lyrics to ‘Imagine’: 'Imagine six apartments, it isn't hard to do, one is full of fur coats, another's full of shoes.’”
Fully support Met Éireann picking Irish storm names for the English to pronounce and I look forward to Storms Conchobhar, Caoimhin & Aoibhe

The 'Irish Patriots' inspired by, linked to and supported by the kind of English nationalists who used to beat up 'Paddies' on the streets of London. Know them by the company they keep
Re Trolls etc - as a West Cork farmer once told me; "If a donkey is roaring at ya out of a field, you're under no obligation to roar back....."
#ProTwip
Enoch Burke dramatically spurned a judge's offer to temporarily release him from jail this afternoon and has returned to Mountjoy Prison, where he has spent over 300 days over his failure to comply with an order to stay away from Wilson's Hospital School in Co Westmeath.…
Always interesting to hear from ppl who think Michael Collins and the lads should have fought for independence without a) hurting anybody and b) breaking stuff
#BigHouseKaren
How many garda and fire stations, special schools and chronically ill people would you drive past on the 14kms from
#beaconhospital
to St Gerard's School For The Minted?
#InThisTogether
All the local cllrs backing 'protests', the TDs who posed for snaps with far-right agitators outside the Dail and said it was' only concerned locals asking questions' - this is where it ends up....
“Croatian who died in fatal Dublin assault was attacked for ‘not speaking English’ as pal pays tribute to ‘brother’”
Never thought I’d read a headline like that in Ireland
Levels of overt racism and violence are frightening
WE ARE FED UP!
Tonight we distributed 350 hot meals, loads of fruits, pastries, bread, crisps, vegetables etc. We gave out sleeping bags and tents. We got used to people waiting around an hour before we even open. There are lots of families with kids and the elderly and our…
We are sleepwalking into this. Usual inertia even though it's happened 100 times before in other countries & there are ways to deal with it - every one of these cowards has a) never voted b) never worked or done anything to actually help their communities. Recreational thuggery
These utter creeps have done *this* to Minister Roderic O’Gorman’s house. They should all be arrested for harassment.
It is only a matter of time before an Irish politician is killed by these fascists.

@IrishRebel1965
The term “Freelancer” comes from Medieval knights who would hire themselves & their lances out to warlords.
It was a tough life, endless war, slaughter & chasing kings to pay out on their invoices.
A strange day - anti-book crowd was small and just kinda stood there - quietly- for four hours. Like half of them had no idea why they were there. Pro-library crowd raucous and big...
Thugs are now using the shocking attack on a family in Dublin City centre as an excuse to indulge in some recreational rioting. Gardai faxing an impossible task - gougers have no fear of our justice system
Amazing story here - a young Irishman went missing in Lisbon - a woman there saw an appeal by his family for help on social media - she went to the nearest hospital and found him
No schadenfreude - but contrast that frank, unvarnished dose of reality from Leo with the bumptious bumbling of Boris.
Never mind that spanner in the White House.
Bandon Gardai stopped this van at a fork in the road beacuse it had no tax/certificate of roadworthiness and a spoon for a ignition key. Van was seized and a court date for the driver. You could cut the tension with a knife.
A screamingly bad decision - turn a publically owned food market into a privately owned "tourism & retail space" - exact opposite to what works across Europe (and Cork):
The amount of anonymous, racist Irish faketriots on this site with Connolly or Collins as their avis is truly hilarious.
Imagine what James Connolly would have made of their bigotry and stupidity - he'd have fired them into the Liffey.
Irish Scandal Timeline;
1 - Comes to light by accident.
2 - Seems VERY BAD.
3 - Gets EVEN WORSE
4 - Wait - yer man is v close with u know who?
5 - They fired the whistle-blower!?
6 - The records were "lost".
7 - Tribunal
8 - And Repeat.
Friend of mine living in wildest West Cork points out that the 20km rule will only allow him to go and look at a slightly different field full of rocks.
So the dingbat owner of Twitter - with their Euro HQ in Dublin - is threatening to interfere in Irish politics?
Glorious opportunity for an Irish politician to administer a much needed kick up the arse, here....
Cyclists should get proper lanes/protection etc - but this 'why should WE have to wear a hi-vis vest - in freezing fog - on a dark winter's night' attitude is just weird.
If you were bringing the dog for a walk tonight, you wouldn't wear flip-flops.
