With plenty of N, corn after rye cover crops yields just fine
New in A&EL: A 12-site-year study from Alexandra Huddell and colleagues challenges assumptions about corn yield after cereal rye. Interestingly, the total N rate mattered more than timing, and when N was sufficient, rye biomass rarely reduced yield. Read: https://t.co/gyWEHJpPoC

I'm sorry folks, but we have to stop claiming Improved Nutrient use efficiencies on products, specifically biological and sugar based, that mineralize OM. Just say your product burns through the OM, its not magic, its science. I feel the need to pour something and write a blog.

New in A&EL: â What limits robusta #coffee yields in the Ecuadorian Amazon? @ajmargenot, @jordon_wade & team used LASSO regression to compare soil and leaf nutrients across management systems to find the best yield predictors. đ https://t.co/v0IUIDRciG

Hereâs a reminder that agronomy is done in the field not from a satellite imagery. Or driving at 55mph past it. One pic itâs obvious itâs dry. The other 2 pics youâd look at satellites and corn is green and looks good. Your algorithms and formulas donât predict reality

Farmers: I cannot overstate how tight UAN supplies in N.A. are. I realize that in years past, even when supplies are tight, retailers have made product appear. This year, do not be mad if your retailer says you will have to wait for supply if you haven't purchased already.

One of my favorite things about working at @SyngentaGroup is knowing that the CEO understands just how important soil health is to farmers because he is a farmer too. The firsthand knowledge of just how challenging it is to balance conservation and profitability is *so* key here
#soilsense is back!!! @timhammerich and I team up again to interview farmers and the Syngenta colleagues supporting their efforts from around the world! Episode 1 dropped today with CEO and farmer, Jeff Rowe, and Chief Soil Scientist Matt Wallenstein https://t.co/eh6eECGegz
